Now this is what I call cheap and plentiful! Seogwipo, restaurant 'Plentiful Table' 푸짐한밥상

Seogwipo city has lots of famous tourist sites such as Jusangjeolli Cliff, Oedolgae, Soesokkak Estuary, Cheonjiyeon Falls, Yeomiji Botanical Garden, so there are also many hotels and restaurants. All restaurants near tourist attractions are a little more expensive than the restaurants elsewhere. But I will show you a good place called 'Plentiful Table', where you can eat a tableful of boiled mackerel and Dombe meat for only 7000 won.

'Plentiful Table' is located near the first building of Seogwipo City Hall. Where ever near the City Hall, the nearby restaurants are always cheap, plentiful and also tasty, so try to look for City Halls.

The most popular menu of 'Plentiful Table' is rice wrapped in greens in a large brass bowl', and this menu includes boiled mackerel and Dombe meat.

I had visited during the off-peak hours so the food was prepared quickly. The Boiled Pork Slices placed on the small cutting board is also called Dombe meat. Dombe is a dialect of Jeju, calling the Boiled Pork Slices on the cutting board. And there are also boiled mackerel marinated in red sauce next to it. And there are also steamed eggs in a big pot and seasoned acorns, seasoned herbs, kimchi, bean paste too.

Unlike the Boiled Pork Slices which are chopped slim, Jeju's Dome are sliced thick and had a rather clunky appearance and texture.

I wrapped the pork in lettuce with salted shrimp, thinking of what to eat next, busily moving my eyes through the table.

I really enjoyed the Dome, and my wife said she enjoyed the boiled mackerel. The mackerel and the radish with it had a delicious taste, she mixed the seasoning with her rice and ate it up.

The rice is served in a large bowl letting us able to mix it with other food.

Mixing the rice with soybean paste and mashed tofu or to eat meat with vegetables taste delicious.

My wife wrapped cabbage rolls topped with herbs and gave it to me, telling me not to eat only meat, the bean paste wasn't salty, pretty good.

Steamed egg came in big pot, rather big for 2 servings. The smooth taste of a common steamed egg. I love eggs, so I scraped it up. ^^ *

And the seasoned Dotorimuk! This dish is the one that older senior citizens would like, I'd like to come again with my parents if I come to Jeju next time.

After I finished the meal Jeju's traditional dessert 'Sheendari', it's a sweet and sour alcohol, that taste like rice wine. It's a smilar drink like Sikhye or sujeonggwa, this is delicious and has a very unique taste.

It's like yogurt or like rice wine. Jeju people eat this kind of food for dessert~ it's worth to try for experience. It's sweet and sour honey.

I expressed as a dessert, but for people who are weak at alcohol may get drunk and caught by drunk driving, so just try a little amount.

After eating, you can see why the name of the restaurant is 'Plentiful Table', because the food is plentiful~ also the menu too! For tourists who have a burden to buy every meal, and of the expensive meal costs can visit 'Plentiful Table' with delight.

Quiet accommodation in Jeju, Jeju Hanwha Resort Family(luxury) room 한화리조트

If not located in the city, most of the accomodations would be quiet, but I am now introducing Hanwha Resort Jeju, which is more quiet and comfortable than other places. The resort is surrounded by Mt. Halla and the Volcanic Cones of Jeju Island, and there is Jeolmul Natural Recreation Forest, fit for a nice walking course.

The resort satisfies both relaxation and quiet walks. Especially those who love to play golf could also enjoy a game of 9-hole at the public golf course in the Plaza CC Jeju. I'll go down to take a look how the place looks like.

The Dolharbang which was welcoming us with a smile gave me the feeling that I am sure in Jeju island. But I couldn't see any marks or letters on the wall wherever I go in the building.

Maybe it's because they are now renovating the inside and outside to greet the peak season, but it is sure Hanwha Resort Jeju. ^^ *

Jeju Island in June is really covered with many flowers, even the garden in here is bloomed flowers everywhere. There is no passersby because there's only the resort facilities and the surrounding mountains nearby, a perfect condition to enjoy the quiet nature.

When I see those kind of coaches in the lobby, I want to leave on a travel~ or I feel that I am really on a trip.... And if there were alcohol loving friends with me, we might have been up there all night, that's a pity I'm not with them now ^^ *

The lighting and tile are very pretty. There's a place selling various chocolate and sweets that can be only able to see in the island. It cost about few thousand wons per box, so we bought one box and sucked them ^^ *

The Family(luxury) room were at the west wing, so we were passing the hall, and found a laundromat. I had came here with a bunch of laundries after swimming too. Watching the TV while waiting the laundry is convenient.

In the 1st floor's corridor which connects from the lobby to the west wing, there are many convenient facilities. There are game room, singing room, PC room, and Sashimi House and also restaurants and a convenience store that is open until 12 am at night.

The convenience store sells food reserves, so those who doesn't want breakfast can buy bread or instant rice and egg for a light meal. And there are all cooking facilities in the room!

Yohot! The lobby and hallway are issuing the coupons required for travelling Jeju island. The one especially noticeable was Aqua Planet, which I was planning to go !!! I asked the staff, and found out Hanwha Resort issues 23% discount coupons for their guests.

Anyone who needs it must not forget about it, right?

I went up to my room on the 6th floor. The room I stayed in was Family(luxury) room, for 2 people. There was 1 Room, a restroom and a living room. The living room was wide enough for 4~5 people could sleep in. And the wide TV had lots of channels, I had no time to get bored at night. ^^ *

There's even a clothes dryer, I've never seen a resort with a clothes dryer. After washing my clothes at the Laundromat, I dried my clothes on the dryer. Since the weather was good, wind was blowing gently and the sunlight was bright, it only took half a day for the laundry to dry. Good~

Because the resort was like a Condo, all kitchen tools were available. Of course, for most of the tourists won't need these, but for some tourists who doesn't want to eat out, these would be useful.

For couples with a baby, there are tools for 3 person ready to use.

Various cooking utensils and cleaning stuff are also neatly ready. Usually, it is not well used, but sometimes when you get seafood such as shells or squid from the local market, these come necessary.

There's even a bathtub that I had never dreamed from a guest house! Yay~ I could immerse my body in the water and rest today. Nowadays, there are many accomodations without a bathtub, so when I find a place with a tub, it makes me feel really good. And the hot water comes out immediately as soon as I turn on the faucet. ^^ *

The good thing that guest house gives us is that we become a good person who knows to appreciate small things. I am really thankful of the toilet bidet. ^^ *

The bedroom is fine if it's just clean and has a dry and smooth pillows and blanket. Sometimes there are hotels that have smelly pillows or damp blanket, but Hanwha Resort has a good condition so I can comfortably sleep well.

There are extra pillows and blanket in the closet, enough for 3 more people. The pillows were the kind used in armies, which contains plastic pellets it wasn't so fluffy, just comfortable enough to sleep well.

Let's go outside to see how the landscape is~

Jeju island's landscape has it's own a lovely feeling. The low hills and the wind with the unique kind of the grass smell is really refreshing. Most of all, I loved the way there were no buildings that block out the view.

There is a caravan on one side. I've never slept here, but on my next trip, I will use it. Hanging out the doorin the evening, grilling meat and playing in the lawn outside, then going in to sleep will be fascinating.

Next to the Caravan there's a Glamping zone, where you can rest, eat barbecue , but accommodation isn't available~

※ Glamping hours are from 16:00 to 22:00 (Reservations 064-783-9130)

I had made breakfast with the egg and instant rice which I had bought from the convenience store on the first floor. Do you see the heart drawn with ketchup on the fried egg hehe? That's right it's a heart!

In Jeju, guesthouses are the trend, but sometimes resorts where enjoying a comfortable bath and a quiet stroll is possible seems good. When I get older, turning in my 40s guesthouse is a little difficult for me now, but of course, talking with young people, or laughing while eating a simple breakfast in the morning is great. Sometimes enjoying the cheap price and relaxing would be great. I relaxed. I recommend.

Things you should eat at Seogwipo daily Olle market (saury gimbap, Jeju sundae, catfish rice cake) 서귀포매일올레시장

There are two large traditional markets that represents Jeju island. One is Dongmun Market in Jeju City, and one is the daily Olle market in Seogwipo. The two traditional markets have many delicious and affordable restaurants and a variety of snacks, and specialities of Jeju are sold cheaply. Most of the attractions are closed at 6 O'clock, and for travelers who are bored in the night can visit the lively Seogwipo daily Olle market.

Seogwipo daily Olle Market is located in the main street of Seogwi-dong. Nearby, there are Cheonjiyeon Falls and Lee Jung-seob street, and the Bird Island, so it's worth to visit.

The first to go is the most famous restaurant in this place, 'Friendship Sushi Restaurant'. The sushi and meal are both cheap, but the reason why this place is so famous is the saury gimbap. Originally, saury gimbap was a side dish that comes out when you order sushi, now it became famous enough to be sold separately. It's cost is 4,000 won for one, and is sold only to go. So it's good for a midnight snack at the hotel.

A whole well baked saury is rolled with warm rice and seaweed laver. It has a little shocking appearance, right?

4000 won for a single line of kimpap is quite expensive. But because a whole saury is included, it's not that expensive. Does the kimpap looks fishy and have a lot of fish bones? But it's not. It isn't greasy, it tastes just like a plain tuna kimpap.

And there are hardly any fish bones, it has a attractive taste. However, I didn't know the fishy taste when it was warm, but when it got cold it's a bit fishy. so buy just as much as you would eat, and eat it when it's warm.

The second is catfish cakes of 'Best Rice Cake Shop'. Catfish cakes traditional ricecake of Jeju, and are only found in Jeju. Unlike other rice cake shops which sell various rice cakes, 'Best Rice Cake Shop' is only selling catfish cake.

The people who continue to make the bread are at the backside in the picture, and the person in front was packing rice cakes, and the guests continually making a line~ 'Best Rice Cake Shop' was a genuine popular place.

The price of catfish cakes were 3000 won for six of them, and the size was like a baby's fist!! Three contained mashed adzuki beans, and the other three contained mashed nuts. The appearances were different, but the inside they had chewy mugwort flavored rice cake and sweet red bean garnish. I personally liked the ones with plenty of nuts better, I have a childish taste.

The last restaurants that I picked in Seogwipo daily Olle Market is... Saerona snack stand??? No, it's not. Modakchigi of Saerona snack stand is famous and tasty, but to me it only tasted like plain rice cake soup mixed with kimpap, pancake, and dumplings, so it doesn't deserve a search and visit to eat. I personally recommend 'Reputated 30 years Sundae'.

In the picture, there is a line of people who came to eat here. Particularly Jeju's Sundae is smelly for tourists who come from the land. There are places that even ask you if you can stand the smell.

The Sundae of this restaurant had no smell and was tasty, and also the color of it was thick, because a lot of blood was mixed together.

The Sundae sold at Seoul/Gyeonggi area has a lot of cellophane noodles, which makes the texture resilient. But the Sundae in Jeju is made of sticky rice and vegetables, also with cellophane noodles so it doesn't have the resilient feeling, but is much tender. I personally like Blood Sundae, so I enjoyed it a lot.

I bought some snacks for the night in a hurry, afraid of getting late after the market closes. I lokked around the market, and it was clean, compared to other traditional markets and it had a roof, making shopping convenient in bad weathers too.

There are many shops which sell Jeju's specialties, chocolate and Olle honey bread here and there, so we bought some snacks to give our family.

We bought those at a cheaper price than at the marts in downtown. In Seogwipo daily Olle Market, the Olle honey bread is 10,000 for 10, when a shop in the downtown was 12,000 for 10.

Because it's the last night in Jeju, we should drink some 'Udo Island peanut rice wine', with the snack we had just bought from the market.

Sweet and tasty peanut rice wine~ My wife enjoyed it. I highly recommend to ladies. Maybe it will be the very first delicious rice wine to taste. It would be mistaken to peanut flavor milk!

The tail part of the saury gimbap!! The visual makes us to hardly try it, but I bravely ate in one bite. It was good~

Seogwipo daily Olle Market was a good place, letting us to spend the last night in Jeju in a tasty and fun way.
