Gyodong Hyanggyo: Eumnae-ri, Gyodong-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon. No. 28 tangible cultural properties of Incheon. An Hyang (1243∼1306) who had visited Yuan Dynasty brought Confucius sculpture on his way back to the country, and enshrined it here. (quoted from Doosan Encyclopedia)

It is the first Hyanggyo of Korea, which was established in 1286. If it was built in the era of King of Chungnyeol, it would be the oldest Hyanggyo.

Various buildings were made of crooked Korean trees, which look very distinctive.

This building is located in the very center of hyanggyo. Outdoor transition zone is so high that you must climb stairs for a long time. But you may feel the dignity of hyanggyo under the building.

This building, which was made of seriously crooked trees, makes me recall Gaesimsa temple in Seosan. It is a unique architecture all around the world.

Fall is the season of cosmos. I like large cosmos field in Guri Hangang park. But small habitat of cosmos in country road is more attractive.

Old people are digging sweet potato at the entrance of hyanggyo. Some of them are putting it into yellow box. Even though working is hard, they seem happy.
