Bukhansan Mountain, the famous mountain climbed by the world’s biggest number of people
It is a world-renowned mountain as well as a national park that is most loved by Koreans. It is also a famous mountain in Goyang where most peaks are located in the city, such as Baegundae Peak, Insubong Peak, Mangyeongdae Terrace, and Uisangbong Peak. It is also listed in the Guinness Book of Records as a national park climbed by the biggest number of people per unit area. Lake Park, Korea’s most popular walkway
It is an artificial lake park established 20 years ago when Ilsan New Town was constructed. A walking trail and bike path are well established around the lake that is over 100,000 pyeong. Haengjusanseong Fortress, the history of the Siege of Haengju where 30,000 Japanese soldiers were defeated by just 2,300 soldiers
It is the place that marks victory at the Siege of Haengju, which was one of the three big sieges during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. This is where the miraculous feat of defeating 30,000 Japanese soldiers with just 2,300 soldiers took place. If you climb up to the top of the mountain along Haengjusanseong Fortress that is made from soil around the entire Deogyangsan Mountain, you will see the monument commemorating the victory of the battle. There is an octagonal pavilion below the monument, which reveals a wonderful view of the Hangang River. Below the mountain, there is also a park to take a walk near the Hangang River.
