Saemangeum Hoetjib 새만금횟집

We sent to Saemangeum Hoetjib near Biheung Port. We ordered the cheapest set that costs 35,000 won for each person. It offers 9different dishes and seemed enough.

First disheswere salads, Jogae tang(clam soup) and Jeongbok juk(abalone rice porridge). I asked them to keep our white wine we brought in the fridge for a while and they were kind enough to do that.

Before the main dish, clams, smoked salmon, octopus and sea squirts were served.

Gaebul(urechis unicinctus), sea cucumbers and abalones were later served with the main dish.

Raw fish dish decorated like a small potted plant.

Yaki udon(Yaki Udon). It's covered with dried bonito and it was chewy because of full flesh.

Wriggling fresh raw octopus and cucumber sushi

Too many dishes we had to finish so we didn't have to order Maeuntang and rice, but asked them to pack leftover fried food.

We had breakfast on the second floor of our hotel, Oscar Suite. Breakfast is available between 7 and 9 in the morning. I was introduced that it's semi-buffet style, and we could enjoy neat Korean food at a clean and quiet restaurant. If you booked a room with breakfast excluded, you could enjoy breakfast for 10,000 for one person.

Rice and dishes that goes well with rice are prepared and I think it's as as good as 30-40,000 won worth breakfast at a five-star hotel.

Plus, you could enjoy barbecue if you pay 20,000 won for each person in the evening. I was told that they bake pork and sausages.

Gyeongam-dong Railroad Village 경암동 철길마을

The first reason I chose to travel Gunsan is because of this place.

This used to be the ocean but it was buried during the Japanese colonial era and the railroad was built to transport papers for newspapers from Gunsan station, and the workers around the area who did not have anywhere else to go came to this land, which did not belong to anyone, formed a village.

The train used to run on this railroad by 2008 but there's nothing left but the railroad now and so many people who used to live here left the village.

The special scenery caught my eyes that the daily lives of people seem to be connected to the railroad.

So this is the end of my Gunsan trip where there are more things than I expected, where there is past and future at the same time and where the ideal is closer than we expect.
