You may be totally exhausted from the trip to Yangpyeong. Or, you may work so hard in daily life. Now, if you search for rest area, deep forest or seashore would be perfect places. I visited newly opened Shija Park in Yangpyeong to take a break and enjoy funny activities.

Most local governments usually run recreational forests. But, interestingly, Yangpyeong-gun opened “Shija Park” in the spring this year. You would see a small pond with pure water lily and splendid carps after parking your car at the parking lot. You can enjoy various places of “Shija Park” after walking the uphill road.

The staff members welcome guests while preparing mite preventive medicine. I took a stroll after spraying it.

You can find the rock climbing facility after walking on the right side of the entrance. It is quite huge, and has various courses. All people can enjoy it for free.

Beautiful birdhouses are hanging on all trees. I want to hang it on the tree in my house. But it seems that none of birdhouse has a bird. :-)

You can find crocks to the next. I wondered whether it was real or fake. But I couldn't open it as I worried that there was real gochujang(red pepper paste). Anyways, glitter crock being in the sun was so beautiful.

Shija Park has a zoo with donkey, goat and rabbit. Children would love it. As I go near to donkey, she looks at me for a while. :-)

Children have a pleasant time while giving fallen leaves to animals. They like the fact that the animals don't run away.

The park, as its name, is equipped with chairs everywhere to make people take a rest. But the funny chair, which is made of shovel, rather makes me take a picture of it. Be careful if you want to sit on it. :-)

When you climb the middle of the path, you will find the observation deck so that you can enjoy the view of whole forest from the narrow uphill road. I think it is the most beautiful place in the park, seriously.

There are pretty chairs everywhere at the observation deck. I was so thankful since I was so exhausted to walk the steep uphill road.

I found the fact that Metasequoia road that I had walked was so beautiful. Trees have not been so grown up since the park opened lately. I expect dense and beautiful forest in the next year.

“Tree market” is the most interesting place in Shija Park. I visited here when the market was not open. But I think it is the most interesting and vigorous place.
Wow! Tree market was open in this spring. Yangpyeong has the largest artists population in Korea. Artists in Yangpyeong sell their own artworks. The market is only open on every second and fourth Saturday.
You can find artworks, accessories, clothes and snacks in the market. Concert is held in the outdoor concert hall on the same day on the opposite side. Why don't you visit there?

After walking a little bit from the tree market, you can see “Chogawon”, the warm place in winter. You can take a break and enjoy some activities. You can drink blueberry juice at 6,000 won, and experience fragrant products.
Shija Park is located in Baegan-ri, Yangpyeong-eup which is close to Yongmunsan mountain and Yangpyeong downtown. It is good to drop by while visiting tourist attractions of Yangpyeong. It would be perfect course if you take participate in funny activities after enjoying the nature in Yongmunsan mountain or valley.
