Yeosu is surrounded by the sea like an island. It consists of so many small islands. It is the wonderful city to appreciate both sunrise and sunset. I think Yeosu marin cable car is the most romantic place at sunset during the trip to Yeosu. Yeosu marin cable car is the first marin cable car in Korea, which connects Dolsando Island with Odongdo Island. It is the fourth marine cable car in Asia following Sentosa in Singapore, Lantau Island in Hong Kong and Nha Trang in Vietnam. Well, here we go!

There are two places to ride the cable car; Dolsan Park of Dolsando Island and the entrance of Odongdo Island. It is the landscape from Dolsan Park. You would better buy a one-way ticket if you don't bring a car.

I purchased round-trip ticket as I had a car. It costs 13,000 won for adult. Midday is good to see the most beautiful landscape. But you'd better go at sunset. I will give a tip to look around both day and night. You should appreciate the midday landscape in the first way. And you should enjoy bright Turtle Ship bridge and city streetlamps and beautiful Dolsan bridge after riding the cable car at sunset.

Let's go to Odongdo Island! Oh, there are two kinds of cable cars; “crystal cabin” that you can look the sea through transparent glass floor, and common cabin with blocked floor. The round-trip ticket price of crystal cabin is more expensive by 7,000 won. But you don't need to choose the cable car if you don't like thrill, or you just want to appreciate sunset.

You can overlook Yeosu at a look. You can see this landscape only at Yeosu marin cable car unless you climb the mountain top of Yeosu. It would be incredible!

Everything looks so small. It is so funny. Bright Turtle Ship, Hamel lighthouse and Yeosu ocean park look so peaceful in the daytime. You can appreciate wonderful landscape in the top. The tower with gondola has been called 'Fish Tower” since it looks like a fish.

Now I can see Yeosu Expo event hall on the far left side and Odongdo Island on the right side. Is the color of the night sea at sunset so beautiful, huh? Why don't you wait before sunset while looking around the sea at a cafe or a pavilion? It is also good to take a walk to Odongdo Island if you arrive at the place too early.

I had to come on foot along woodland path from Odongdo Island in the past as there was none of elevator. But, it is easily accessible now thanks to the elevator and pedestrian overpass like shown in the left picture. The lightings are shining at night! You can see wonderful landscape after riding the cable car.

I wanted to take a picture of beautiful sunset while riding the cable car, in fact. But, unfortunately, I could only see faint red sky as it was snowing. Unfortunately, I could not see the sun. You can appreciate sunset beyond the horizon if you come on sunny day. Even so, colorful city, shining Turtle Ship bridge and reflected sea were awesome.

Yeosu has been famous for the night sea and night view. It is unknown whether it is because of the song “Yeosu night sea” or the long tradition. More lights are shining in the city. I hardly took a picture of night landscape in the wavering cable car. Even so, the night sea of Yeosu is quite attractive.

Everything looks the same in the cable car! All I need to do is just taking a picture. I rode the cable car with my wife, and she said it was the best cable car ever. So did I. It is totally different from other tourist attractions since it is the first marin cable car in Korea.

Now, the day in Yeosu has been fast declining. The sharp structure is Dolsan bridge. And the sun is setting beyond it. It is attractive whether it is fine or cloudy. It is the fourth trip to Yeosu, but I have always found new things whenever I visit here. The foods are great like one of the regions of Jeollanam-do. And there are many places to appreciate the night sea. You must ride Yeosu marin cable car at sunset. You would love it!
