Jungnogwon Bamboo Garden would be the most famous tourist attraction in Damyang. It is a huge bamboo garden with over 180,000 bamboo. The garden was built in 2003. While walking along the trail, you can enjoy fresh fragrance of bamboo. Woods bathing is good for our health. Wood bathing in bamboo forest is much better, because bamboo gives off more anion and oxygen than other trees.

Damyang has many bamboo forests. Jungnogwon Bamboo Garden is the most beautiful bamboo forest among them. It was built to welcome tourists. I wonder what scenery would be there. It is not crowded with many people on weekdays. I like it.

I could feel mysterious atmosphere from the ticket office. I really like the sound of bamboo. I can see hanok on the right side. That is an observatory which is called “Bongwhangroo”. I really want to see the scenery.

I can see Gwanbangjerim Forest on the observatory. There is famous Metasequoia Road under the mountain. But you can enjoy the road in your car as it is common in Damyang.

There is a picture exhibition room inside the observatory. It displayes pictures about bamboo and damyang taken from 1960s to now. Some of them are really interesting. I can't show them due to the copyright.

Now, here we go! :-)

But there are graffitis in everywhere. Children might do that. They must stop it. All people should not scribble on the wall. I am so shameful of them.

I entered small path in bamboo forest, and I found wonderful rest area. It is so comfortable as it is surrounded with bamboo. While watching the sky here, I can forget about all of bad thinkings. Bamboo gives off anion 10 times more than other trees. I hope it purifies my body and mind.

I met a cat on the street. She rubbes her body on my hands when I call her. She might be grown by a human.

Is my figure normal? As I get older, the gap becomes bigger. I am within fifthies. But I am not fat!!

There are eight trail courses. Rest area is established between the courses. It is decorated with pretty chairs to prevent bamboo forest from being damaged. Round egg shaped chair is so comfortable. I am sleepy. :-)

These are sculptures of Jungnim Falls and panda in “the road of eternal love”. There is no panda in Korea, but the sculptures are quite pretty. It would be the good place for children to take a picture.

I can find “Siga culture folk village” after walking for a while. Six pavilions have been reproduced here. You can enjoy traditional tea event, hanok accommodation and Sori Training Center. Myeongokheon garden, Soswaewon garden and Gwangpunggak pavilion that I showed you in my writing before have been reproduced, too.

That is Usongdang Hall (Sori Training Center). It was broadcasted on KBS TV program “One night two days”. It is running gukak(Korean classical music) educational programs like Namdo folk song, pansori and poongmul(institutions and customs, scenery and customs). I want to participate in those programs, expecially pipe! I really want to learn it someday.

Do you remember this scenery in my writing before? Myeongokheon garden has been perfectly reproduced here. The pond is quite different, though. Since Lee Seung-gi fell into the pond in the TV program “One night two days”, it is called “Lee Seung-gi pond”.

I couldn't pass by pretty chairs in the rest area. It took a long time to look around since I seated on the chairs, and touched them. Those who visit here would sympathize with me. The chair was so cool in summer a couple of years ago. Bamboo might bring wind.

There are green plants in Jungnogwon Bamboo Garden even though it is midwinter. Jungnogcha is growing between bamboo trees. Jungnogcha is very precious Korean traditional tea. It was dedicated to Kings in the Joseon dynasty period. It is so expensive and delicious since it only grows in bamboo forest.

My leg is hurt. But don't worry. I can take a break at hanok rest area. You can take a nap in the room for a minute. It is not so cold thanks to the warm sunlight.

Jungnogwon Bamboo Garden is a huge bamboo forest that is hard to find in other cities. Usually, I have a lukewarm reaction when I visit the same place for many times. But I am still touched by Jungnogwon Bamboo Garden even though I have visited there for three times. Why don't you get a lot of anion and oxygen, and make your mind peaceful in Jungnogwon Bamboo Garden in damyang?
