There is Mediterranean village, the European style building in Asan. In particular, it is popular with young people. They have a meal, drink tea and take pictures there. You can enjoy food all around the world. I visited “Menya matsuri”, Japanese ramen restaurant that is popular with young people.

It is located in the first floor of Provence style building. So it is easy to find.

It is a small restaurant with a few tables.

Let's see the menu. There are only two menus: Hakata Donkocheu ramen with clean pork broth, and spicy Karachuzi ramen. Side dishes are Chahang(fried rice) and Gyoja(fried dumplings). I ordered Donkocheu ramen and Karachuzi ramen. They cost 7,000 won and 7,500 won respectively.

You can enjoy large size menu for free in luch time from Tuesday to Friday (11 a.m.~2 p.m.) So we ordered large size menus.

Spicy Karachuzi ramen has been served at first. It is full of noodles, chashu(pork), egg, green bean sprouts and green onion. It is quite large amount. But men should order large size menu. They would be full with large size food.

Raw garlic and garlic crusher are prepared at the corner of the table. You can mince garlic as much as you want. Japanese ramen would be greasy since it is made of pork bone. I like garlic, so I minced two pieces.

You can't talk about ramen without broth. Menya matsuri makes broth on its own, and it was deep and clean. You can choose three stages of spicy taste. I chose No.1 since I don't like spicy food that much. It was quite good to me. If I ordered upper stage, I would have blacked out.

Oh, and you shouldn't miss the noodles! The restaurant also makes noodle by itself. It is thinner than average instant ramen, but it is so chewy. I like the combination of thin noodle and broth. It would be not delicious with thick noodle and broth.

This is “Hakata Donkocheu ramen”. It is the most well-known ramen in Korea. Clean pork broth is the symbol of Donkocheu ramen. The kinds of garnish and the amount are the same with that of Karachuzi ramen. The broth color is different, though.

Deep broth of Donkocheu ramen is amazing. It does not smell pork order. The broth of ramen was more delicious than that of original Japanese ramen. I thought the broth is a little bit salty, but I couldn't stop drinking it. So I drank all of ramen broth.

The soft-boiled egg was so delicious. The color is distinctive, too. I was sorry that it has been served only one.



Ramen was more delicious than I thought. I was so surprised. Broth is deep and aromatic, and noodle is thin but chewy. Moreover, garnishs are so delicious. Chashu(pork) was soft and tender. Egg was so soft, too. I have been to a lot of ramen restaurants so far, but Menya matsuri was the best. I strongly recommend it.
