Palsangjeon Hall :
You will see the splendid wooden building after passing by the temple gate dedicated to the Four Devas. It is the only wooden pagoda in Korea, and No. 55 national treasure. Palsangjeon hall has Paintings of the Eight Great Events that show the life of Sakyamuni. But those paintings were enshrined in the pagodas in temples, so Palsangjeon hall served as pagoda. Palsangjeon hall of Beopjusa temple is five-storied wood pagoda.

Maitreya faith is the religion for Maitreya. Maitreya is one of the representative Buddhist saints of Mahayana Buddhism, and it is also called “Ja Bodhisattva”. He preaches Buddhist teachings for God and man on Tusita-deva after receiving a note from Sakyamuni.
Maitreya was born in this world long after Sakyamuni died as a Buddhist saint. He became Maitreya after attaining Buddhahood under Yongwhasoo in Hwarimwon. He educated all people that Sakyamuni couldn't save with three Buddhist sermons. According to Buddhism scriptures, Sakyamuni is the fourth Buddha and Maitreya is the fifth Buddha.
Sakyamuni's teaching is “Becoming Buddha on your own through self-discipline”. However, it is hard for people to rescue themselves through self-discipline. Maitreya faith tries to rescue ordinary people who cannot renounce worldly desires by themselves.
Maitreya faith worships Maitreya, the Buddha of the future. It has been expanded by people who desire new world. Buddhism has been criticized because it is too theoretical. But Maitreya faith is the specific folk beliefs. Moreover, while other Avalokitesvara belief, jijang belief and Amita Buddha belief focus on individual, Maitreya faith focuses on group.
Among Maitreya faith, those who believe in Maitreya Sangsaeng faith wishes to be born in Tusita-deva after practicing good deeds in this life. Maitreya hasaeng faith wishes Bodhisattva to rescue this world. It is the similar with Messianism in the west.

Daeungbojeon Hall:
It is a large building that is 19 meters high. It is one of
three Buddhist halls in Korea like Muryangsa Temple Geungnakjeon Hall
and Hwaeomsa Temple Gakhwangjeon Hall.
You
can see two monkeys after climbing the stairs in front of
Daeungbojeon hall. They are Nahansangs that protect Beopjusa temple.
They are old monkeys sitting on the ground. They exorcises evil
spirits with their experience and knowledge and quickness.
There
is Dangganseok in front of Jinyeonggak. They should be located in
front of temple. I think it has been moved.
