Hirotsu's old house 히로쓰가옥

It's also called 'Hayashi's house'because the scene of Yakuza boss Hayashi walking out of here wearing Geta(Japanese sandals) in the movie titled [The General's Son]. This house was owned by Hirotsu who used to be a member of a legislative body of Gunsan department committee after he had made a fortune from a linen shop, and the house had a beautiful Japanese style yard.

This is the Japanese style garden. There's a stone lantern, an artificial pond, and a small potted plant created in the yard which looks so different from Korean style garden.

This leads to the second floor.

This is the view of garden from the second floor. Two separate buildings were covered by one roof. Therefore, there is another garden on the opposite side of the building along with the one visible from here.

In the backyard, there was the shade and beautiful flowers. I think it's a very independent refuge that you could forget tough reality.

All the friends and couples were interested in the buildings here that were glamorous and complex than they had expected, and did not forget to take pictures.

Gunsan Gym 군산체육관

On my way to Dongguksa Temple from Hirotsu's old house, I suddenly saw the gym so I headed that way. A big portrait of a boxer reminded me of the professional boxing in the 1970s. The world's professional boxing champion that all the people in village screamed their lungs out and cheered for in front of a black and white TV.

In the dark room, I saw the sunlight streaming through the window like hope. In old times when all of us were hungry, our seniors must've practiced in this boxing gym dreaming of being a champion to overcome poverty.
