Hyeopjae beach, Geumneung beach, the beaches that only few know

People are indeed simple. Because they only follow the way that their navigation shows, or only goes to places that some blogger had wrote down. On the day I found Geumneung beach and Hyeopjae beach the place was crowded with people, but the beautiful place among the beach, there was nobody except us.

From the beaches that are beside this place, because of the geographical structure this place is hidden. And if this place is seen from a distance, it looks inconvenient to play because of the black rocks. But if you actually visit here, you will see that it's enjoyable to look at the nature and there's a nice swimming place too.

Hyeopjae beach is now crowded with people as time passes by.

Of course, Hyeopjae beach is also beautiful and good enough to enjoy the ocean with children. But for me who is full of curiosity and always looking for a new place, I search for quiet places where people don't play.

Jeju island's ocean was indeed beautiful. The crystal clear water was marvellous and the warm temperature was good enough to swim in June. The true paradise for swimming is indeed Jeju island, not Haeundae!

The beach was sandy, and also there is a place full of shells like jewelry, a few ten meters away.

Dragging the slippers I bought in Bangkok which costed 2000 won, I dipped my feet and walked in the water. The warm feeling of the water was good.

The coal-black rocks and white sand beaches strangely matches well, isn't it? Jeju island has a truly unique natural environment.

Although the rocks are beautiful and special, but it was a little uncomfortable to walk, maybe that's why people don't come here.

After one small rocky hill, the number of people gets really less. 200 meters away? That's today's destination.

There were people enjoying fishing on the beach and,

There are also many people who were enjoying dating on the beach.

I think there is a pile of wish tops stacked in groups ahead.

Right, I wondered when did they pile these things...... Dear Dragon King, please let us Huni couple have three daughters and sons~ ^^ *

We relaxed and drank some coffee that we had bought at the big mart near the airport, as soon as we arrived Jeju. As a tip, for those who can't last a day without coffee, buy a bunch of coffee at the big mart near the airport as soon as you arrive, and store them in the refrigerator of your accommodation.

Comparing to the cost of convenience stores, the cost cheaper more than a double, so those who drink quite a lot a day, the difference of cost is huge. Plus, the neighborhood stores, they don't sell black coffee.

After the stone tower, we met a sea with no people. But what are the black dots on the ground?

Wow~ they're gastropods, the ones you suck at an amusement park! I took a closer look to see if it they were emoty shells, but there were trail marks. They're all living things. I cas see the nature of Jeju is indeed alive!

You can pick up gastropods and crabs on the beach and have fun. If you want to enjoy with your kids, I recommend a place with no people which is 200 meters further than the beach.

It seems uncomfortable for playing because of the rocks, but actually it is even more convenient.

Because you can put your clothes and belongings on top of the flat rocks, and play in sand. This place is much more clean and comfortable to play than the sandy beach. Parking is okay to do at Hyeopjae beach, if you want to park closer, there's a road between Hyeopjae beach and the Geumneung beach. If you drive there, there are parking spaces right in front of the beach.

Both beaches were packed with people, but the place I was playing had nobody~ Besides, living creatures were everywhere so I had plenty to have fun all day long.

Small fish were swimming through the seaweed. these guys weren't afraid of people and went about between my feet.

Some gastropods were disguised in seaweed,

A lot of transparent shrimps were also living here. I was just able to catch them by raising them up with my hand. They weren't afraid of me because hardly anybody came here.

Against the beach, in the left-right direction is Geumneung Beach, and the right direction is Hyeopjae beach. As in the photo, the beach is hiding in the rocks, so people do not know here.

If you want to gladly spend the day with gastropods and fish, I recommend this place. I'd be really, really dare to guarantee a fun day.

Now I'll go towards Geumneung beach along the way. A place with a colony of palm trees is in the sight. I feel like I've come to a resort abroad! Cool.

The palm trees lined up at the entrance looks like a foreign resort, wow~ nice.

This is the entrance of Geumneung beach. Of course, Geumneung and Hyeopjae beach are sufficient to set up a tent and play all day long. But if you are looking for a little more secluded place, or want to catch fish and gastropods with children, I would like to recommend the place I just showed you. I bet you would never know the time going. Or maybe everyone will be sucking gastropods at night... ^^ *

The Marine Ranching Road Bridge of Sinchang windmill Coastal Road(Water Coastal Road)

On Jeju island there are several places of wind power generators. At Sinchang windmill coastal road and at Hangwon wind farms seen from Woljeong-ri beach, you can see a lot of windmills.

Today we will go to Marine Ranching Road Bridge, recently built at Sinchang windmill Coastal Road. If you are traveling the west of the island, you will deliberately passe the beach path without having to pick up time to visit.

I wonder if you know the feeling when you open the windows wide and feel the sea breeze while driving your car! The sour smell of the sea is very, very fresh. Now we will go to a place where windmills are spinning.

When you drive through the grasses growing low, you will see windmills around the area. This indeed unique landscape can not be seen anywhere in the inland.

This is where I take pictures every year, in autumn silver grass and cosmos grow near the road, making another landscape.

Windmill no.2 is my favorite among many. This year, we met in the summer. How have you been?

If I'm sitting down here, I can hear hwinghwing sound of the windmills spinning in the wind. I rested here until the sun went down, sipping a can of coffee. I do not know why, but the hwinghwing sound of the wind is heard very attractive to me. It gives me a feeling like I've been summoned to some space time in the universe? Anyway, I can not express well, but it sounds very attractive to me.

If you come along a small road next to the Korea Southern Power International wind power center, you'll meet a place to park at a dead end. I'll let my car to rest a while walk the Marine Ranching Road Bridge of sunset.

There's a long bridge put between this side and that side over the sea, the wind and waves makes my legs sick and dizzy, but the feeling of walking on the sea gave me a very different experience. In addition, it's also quiet so blow a kiss to your loved ones on the sea. ^^ *

There are fish sculptures made of iron that are floating on the sea. It is unique, but also a bit scary.

Until the lighthouse, there is a path made over the sea, and it has a great passage at the floor, so the ocean water and spawning fish are able to cross both sides. a Here is called Marine Ranching, maybe it is made to protect and grow out juvenile fishes.

What do you think? It is okay, isn't it? It is a quiet place to walk and enjoy the sound of windmills and waves with no people to interrupt. I strongly recommend this place for a date course to stroll.

Suwolbong and the Black Sand Beach 검은모래해변

In Jeju island, there are many beautiful places where not a lot of people goes. The place we are going today is Suwolbong.

Suwolbong is famous for it's beautiful sunset, so lots of people visit here. But the Black Sand Beach which is at the bottom of the Suwolbong cliff is not well known, and people hardly visit here. However, it is also very beautiful. Now, shall we go?

After a long drive, I spotted an object appearing to be a snake toy lying still on the road. I thought I'll pick it up and surprise my wife, so I went closer to it.

But...... it was a real snake, alive. The snake longer than 1 meter looked at me and then went away. I was really astonished!

The snake ran away into the grass as I went closer to take a picture. That a huge snake was faster than I thought. It would be scary if the snake attacks me with that speed. ^^ * I heard there's lots of snakes on the island, probably there's plenty of food, anyway that was a fun experience.

I arrived Suwolbong.

The sea's view from the top of Suwolbong has a strange beauty. The weather is changeable, from clear weather to cloudy weather, so the pictures are various. But the sunset view is really beautiful. I can not wait until sunset because I have to go down the cliff~

Below Suwolbong there is a long stretched cliff that reveals these stratums. This area is designated as a natural monument no.513, because of it's unique environment.

The stratums have waited a long time and finally revealed their faces to the world. Some is the dirt and some are debris of stone, and also they're large stones stuck vertical. What a rare scene indeed.

Now the sun is starting to shine again. Jeju Island has a really fickle weather!

This time, I'll go down to the Black Sand Beach. The direction in the picture is Suwolbong. If you look at the ocean from Suwolbong, and follow the road on the left side, you will see a small sign saying 'Visit Trail'. There is a small parking space for 3~4 cars, but if you drive to fast you might pass away without notice, so you should drive slowly and search.

Down the little road you'll find this stunning Black Sand Beach. The reason why this place is designated as a natural monument is because it has very important values to study the volcanic activities and the changes of the earth's surface along by it. The large beach only had the two of us, and one resident far away from us.

The sedimentary layer of the beach looks like someone had cut it with a knife, and is awesome indeed. It was very rare scenery that you can't find anywhere. The cliffs on the beach with black sand and sediments were spreaded like a folding screen along the coastline.

Black sand grains were thicker than normal sand. So when you walk on the sand, the crunching sound is truly nice to hear.

There were students in the deeper area of the beach, who were getting rid of the rubbish made by the storm. Maybe they were cleaning because the summer season is coming up. Anyway, this place is a very nice landscape which can't be created by human power.

I have found something squirming, am I figured out it was a crab. And there were lots of them! I asked the local residents and found out that the crabs are freshwater crabs, not sea crabs. In Jeju dialect, they are called Horse Dung, because they smell like horse dung if you boil them. The taste also isn't good, so nobody in the area eats them. Lol
