40 year of native famous restaurant in Gongju, 'Myeongseong Bulgogi'
Gongju-si has various ways to promote the convenience for tourists. One of them is to find and introduce 'Best Restaurant'. Gongju-si evaluates restaurants according to the taste of food, level of hospitality, and use of local ingredients, then selects 'Gongju best restaurant'. I visited the best restaurant that got high score with tasty Bulgogi, 'Myeongseong Bulgogi'.

Myeonseong Bulgogi is located in the Gongju's representative traditional market, Sanseong Market. It is the native restaurant that was open in 1973 and has been run for about 40 years. Pass by a store in the picture above and go 30m more, then there will be a 'Nonghyeop' bank. Walking 10m into an alley, you would see a large parking lot. It's free for people who come for the restaurant.

The restaurant has run for 40 years but recently it has modern and neat style after remodeling. If there is no brazier, it will look like a modern cafe.

It has good ambiance after remodeling and looks more like a cafe. First impression of the restaurant is good because I don't smell characteristic rancid oil.

The representative menu of the restaurant is Bulgogi. Plus there are many meat menus and dessert menus. It also has high reputation among local citizens. We ordered the representative menu, Bulgogi for two people. It costs 11,000 won per person.

We ordered 2 dishes of Bulgogi. 12 side dishes as well as big pan containing Bulgogi are served. Simple and various side dishes make me feel like that I'm in a Korean Table d'hote restaurant.
There are Sour and sweet yellow jellyfish salad that stimulates my appetite, chewy Yeongeun Jorim(Boiled lotus root) and savory Nakji Jeotgal(Salted seafood with small octopus), as well as Japchae. Ingredients are fresh and well seasoned so it' very tasty.

The most basic thing of restaurant is the flavor of cooked rice. Rice of Myeongseong Bulgogi cooked properly and it's fresh. It will be easy to empty a bowl of rice only with side dishes.

The pan has generous tender Bulgogi seasoned with soy sauce, enoki mushrooms, chives, and glass noodles.

Myeongseong Bulgogi is Seoul style Bulgogi with some broth. It's not cooked in advance. You can eat it boiling at the table together.
Being boiled Bulgogi stimulates my appetite so much. It's easy to eat the solid ingredients including meat and vegetables, because the middle of pan rises bulbously.

Meat is thin so you can eat it soon without boiling long time. Meat is moist and tender due to broth. Besides, sauce of Bulgogi has sweet flavor so it's good to take a sip of broth.

You can enjoy delicacy of tasty food mixing rice together. I had a bowl of rice with side dishes and one more bowl mixed with meat and seasonings. Totally I emptied two bowls. I had so much food today forgetting about losing weight.
The fact that Myeongseong Bulgogi has been run for 40 years only at one place in front of the Gongju Sanseong Market proves this restaurant is the best one in Gongju. It has ample amount of food from side dishes to the main dish and they taste simple, light, and good. Plus, ingredients are fresh and the restaurant owner is very kind. It's the reliable restaurant designated as 'Best Restaurant' by Gongju-si. It's recommendable to have a satisfying meal at the Myeongseong Bulgogi and go for a walk nearby the Gongsan Fortress.

Pretty and Special, First Manless Hotel in my life 'Soseol'
Actually I planned to stay at the Gongju Hanok Village, but I failed to reserve the room. I rushed to find a hotel. However it's hard to find a hotel in Gongju. I found on impulse and chose this hotel. I didn't know it was unusual manless hotel without any lobby, because I booked a hotel room by phone and got a call after sending money. It was also very cheap. Anyway it's an amazing and interesting hotel. Shall I go down to see what it looks like?

The way up to the hotel is fantastic. The road full of cherry blossoms is stretched straight out. Walking on this road make me feel like I'm a bride at the wedding. ^^*

Wow~ If I go upstairs after parking here, it might be directly connected to rooms. I parked and pressed a button. Then a slide came down and it made me isolated from outside of the world. I had never experienced it before so I was puzzled for a while.

There are machine to pay for the room at the entrance. It must be a manless hotel.
If you didn't reserve a room in advance, put money into the machine. Then the door of room will be open, Click~. Those who have secret(?) meeting and feel uncomfortable to meet employees might love this hotel. ^^*

The room is very clean than I expected. It feels like a new boutique hotel with all the new things. It seems much better than a motel.
The bathroom looks similar to the one that is in JS The Classic business hotel in Dongtan. It has various bath supplies and much hot water. Generally it seems neat. I like here especially because of a bidet. There is no bathtub.

The room has all supplies that it supposed to have. There are two sticks of sweet coffee and a bag of green tea. On the right side of picture, there is an amenity box. It has everything from a toothbrush and toothpaste to a razor. There are 3 sets of adult supplies that are digitized on the upper right side. Children, go away!

Warm color of lighting makes the room look modern. There is a latest all-in-one PC that works much faster than one I have. It's good to search for the tourist information for the next day, at night.

A mattress is big and a little bit hard. It's comfortable to lie down. Pillows and blankets are clean and have no bad smell. I'm sensitive to the smell so I'm always worried about it.

I like this hotel that has overall simple design. It's the best with a low price. I will often stay at this kind of manless hotel.

The view from the hotel is like this. In the very left side of the picture, there is a starting point of the cherry blossom road. It is Park Jeong-ja three-way intersection. If you go over a high mountain in the middle of the picture, you would be led to Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. If you take the left way, you would go to Seoul.

A computer that I want to have at home. This is a HDMI that is connected to TV of the room. You can play a movie on your PC and watch it on the TV screen. It's admirable.

My wife has Android phone and I have iPhone. A high-speed battery charger was installed already so we could recharge both of them. I love this careful service.

Yes, two bottles of each water and beverage in a refrigerator. It's much more sanitary than just using a water purifier.

Wi-Fi works very well. I would say Korean hotels offer the best service in the world. It's hard to find this kind of hotel that pays careful attention to details, compared to expensive hotels in Southeast Asia.

Next morning, I will go down to watch the Cherry blossom festival of Donghak Temple in Gyeryong Mountain. I feel like I have the luxury of being able to enjoy cherry blossoms passing through a tunnel made by cherry blossoms. Wherever you travel, you should feel happy to stay overnight at comfortable and clean room. If you go trip to Gongju, stay at the manless hotel. Facilities are cleaner than I thought. Above all, it's cheap! Good~
