Seosamneung Royal Tombs
It is a beautiful travel course where you can stroll through the pine forest hundreds of years old while looking around cultural relics from the Joseon Period. The unique architectural style that exemplifies traditional Korean culture still remains, and the tomb was acknowledged for its outstanding universal value as a part of the cultural heritage of humanity and was thus designated as a UNESCO World Heritage on June 30, 2009. This place used to be covered with dense forests with deers frisking around up until the 1960s. It is the biggest tomb area of the Joseon Dynasty that fully encompasses the whole Joseon Period. The tree-lined street at the entrance is especially beautiful, and is thus often used as a filming location for movies or dramas. Construction for eco-park style development will soon be carried out to turn it into one of the most famous attractions in Goyang.
