Hangil Book Museum
Hangil Book Museum is a space established by Hangilsa, Korea’s leading publishing house specialized in humanities publications founded in 1976, in order to provide a new perception on the value of books.
The museum exhibits collections of historical books that allow you to newly discover the beauty of books created by masters. There are publications that cannot be found anywhere else in Korea, such as antique books from Europe from the 16-19th century, engravings that show the history of printing and publications from the 18-19th century, and historical newspapers and magazines.
There are also experimental art programs run in cooperation with culturati in various fields. The Book Museum, based on Hangilsa’s experience from publishing the books of living witnesses in humanities arts for 36 years, also plans experimental exhibitions applying its experiences and materials related to the field of publication. As an intellectual exhibition space, Hangil Book Museum also offers lectures and serves as a venue for arts to converge where there is communication between the East and the West and between Korea and the world.
