Rose Gallery 장미갤러리

Rose Gallery is an art gallery right next to Modern History Museum. You will find a program where you can experience on the first floor and a gallery on the second floor.

I found these employees working in the gallery on the second floor. I was impressed by their proud description on the paintings drawn by Mr. Heo, the painter.

On the second floor of Modern Art Gallery, 100 paintings donated by the painter Ha Ban-yeong were permanently exhibited.

The theme he usually used was an aunt climbing up white porcelain because he wanted toexpress Korean's indomitable will and patience through an ant climbing slippery surface of white porcelain.

Behind the Rose Gallery, there was a statue that shows the grass roots who were persecuted at that time. I could feel the mournful pain the farmers must felt when they lost their land.

Miz Sangsa 미즈상사

There's a cafe called Miz Sangsa right next to Modern Art Gallery. It looks very unique that it had tables and chairs on the first floor and a tatami-floored room with a big window on the second floor.

There was a floor sitting table in the room with a tatami floor on the second floor.

Through the window, you could feel cool breeze and enjoy Patbingsu (adzuki-bean ice dessert) on the chair.

The 8,000 won worth old Patbingsu was served in a nickel-silver pot. Be careful when you eat it. You might feel full after this because they put so much rice cake inside it.

The table on the first floor is waiting for customers alone.

The dice made of stones was there like a bench next to Modern Art Gallery.

The 18th bank in Korea. It says it was the 18th bank that was authorized. This one is another building that has a history of Japanese exploitation such as rice exploitation, transfer of rice, forced purchase of land and Japanese businessmen's expansion to Korea during Japanese colonial era along with Gunsan branch of former bank of Joseon and the former Gunsan Customs building(former main building of the Gunsan Customs).

The history was displayed in the former bank branch manager's office.
