Goesan Kolon Camping Park, Let's go camping 괴산 코오롱캠핑파크

I
n this trip to Boeun/Goesan, we decided to try a new thing, CAMPING. Normally, it needs a lot of energy since you have to take everything equipment, a tent and stuff in a big car and organise them when you arrive, but today I'm going to stayin the Auto Camping Park, Let's go camping, where they provide everything you need for camping, even the tent installed in a big Palace, and a tarp where you could enjoy barbecue parties so all you need is yourself who's ready to enjoy the nature.

The way to the camping site could be different depending on which navigation system you use, and you might not get result if you type 'Kolon Camping Park' or 'Let's go camping'. It's because Let's go camping is inside Boramwon.

The map of Korea is made as a maze using trees. You could take a walk in there. I was amazed by sensible choices made by Kolon. Doesn't it look pretty?

Thank god we arrived before it got dark. This is the office that's called Base Camp. You could check in here, get items necessary for camping and hear instructions regarding camping.

*In terms of the fees and available dates, you should refer to the comments below because it's closed on Monday-Tuesday and available dates are different depending on how many nights you stay (1 or 2 nights). So I hope you check the dates below and not confused.

When you check in, you can listen to them about how to use the camp and how to use the items you received. It had been a few decades since my last camping so I was kinda confused. I would feel a little exhausted to sleep here than sleeping in a hotel but it feels different, and I must say it's good!

Everything you need for camping is included in the fees so you could borrow everything else except but charcoal and disposable products which you could buy there. Two cans of butane gas are included as well so you won't have to bring them. All you need is yourself!

You would need firewoods to make a bonfire at night and you could buy a box of firewood for 13,000 won there. However, the price you have to pay for splitting firewoods yourself is also 13,000 won. But you will get twice more firewood than just buying the box! So I paid 13,000 for splitting firewoods myself.

So there's some space to split firewoods on the left of the base camp. You could take two sticks of uncut firewoods with you. So shall we start?

After I listened to how to split firewood briefly, I wore safety shoes and red cotton work gloves then I hit it so hard…but…then, the ax got stuck in the tree and did not split at all. lol So I gathered my power and hit it hard again!!!

Muhahaha, the manager said I am pretty good for a beginner. Maybe I should live in a country.

I packed two logs that look like round stumps in the sack and took it to our tent. I'm going to burn these and spend the warm and sweet night! For your information, this is pine tree that catches fire slowly and longer. I bet I couldn't use up it all even if I keep burning them all. So if you go there in two teams, you could split firewood for 13,000 then split it and it would be enough. With that amount of tree, we could make barbecue, have a party with beer but still we didn't used the half of it. So keep that in mind.

We put the firewood that I had just split and the camping appliances that we had received and went back to our tent. Did you expect somebodywould bring it to you? No, it's outdoor camping, you could do it yourself!

No. 101, okay, this is our tent. In front, there's tarp surrounded by Full Screen and a Palace and a tent in the back.

Between the tents, there's a playground for kids. So I played for a while with the neighbors'(?) kids.

It was really amazing to sit on the swing and have a beer at night. It's quite strange and new for me to do all of this so easily.

I'll show you how easy you could do. Let's see what's in the tent.

In the Palace and the tent, everything was prepared for 4 people. From upper left, there are 4 chairs, small and big tables, field bed, kitchen table, gas burner, water bottles, cooler, 2 lantern hangers, electronic mosquito coil, wastebasket, draining board, 4 hope power output socket, heater, 2 electric pads and 4 pillows.

And the camping box that I got at the base camp had tablewares, portable pots and pans for camping, and even a high pressure rice making pot. I even found table cloth, apron, loofah sponge, dishcloth and gloves. There's nothingneeded more to cook for 4 people.

Oh, and they gave us 4 sleeping bags. But there were only two of us so we covered the two of them with a wrapping cloth and used them as a mat and the rest as blankets!!! ^^* Under the electric pads, they set up 4 ground sheets so we felt comfortable without hurting our backs. Pillows were tube-style with air inside them so they were light. For your own sake, please cover them with wrapping cloth.

Now, the highlight of camping, must-do list on camping, barbecue time!! The pine tree burns slowly so I made a fire to the starter which I bought myself and then I put the tree sticks on it. Yes, blaze the firewood~

If you put too many firewoods you'll burn the meat so you have to make charcoal little by little by putting proper amount of firewood at a time. Put Samgyupsal(pork) on the broiler and roast it. You could stick sausages, welsh onions, potatoes and onions on a stick, and this is the real barbecue!

Well-roasted pork and a beer made me feel like I had the whole world. Well, isn't this why we go on a camping in the first place? All I did was to buy food at the supermarket so how amazing world is this? So we were having beer and playing with fire until late at night. It was really fun!

After I had so much meat and beer, my face looked swollen the next morning. In the morning, we had a cup of drip coffee that we brought from home. Wow, drinking brewed coffee outside was mind-blowing.

For breakfast, we made bread mixed with eggs, cooked potatoes and a few sausages.

Isn't this amazing for a breakfast at the outdoor campsite? I'm sure anyone could do this, right?

The kid from the front camp was looking at me sadly so I had to make one more. I wouldn't be interested in other people if I was in the apartment but bumping into each other outside like this makes us get closer quickly.

This kid was busy with chasing after a rabbit wandering around the tent. The rabbit ran away when I tried to approach but not when the kid did it. I guess the rabbit knows the kids are not dangerous.

Kolon Camping Park Let's Go Camping campsite has 52 tents in approximately 8,000 pyeong(26,446m2) land. For two-day(one night) trip, tentsare only available on Wednesday and Thursday, and three-day(two nights) trip, they're available on Wednesday-Friday and Friday-Sunday, and probably it got popular among tourists in the whole country because of this time limitation. While we were there, I saw quite many families who were enjoying camping. I am sure the hotels and pensions are great but if you travel often, it would be fun to set up a tent outside and have a barbecue party with boyfriend/girlfriend or family. You don't have to pack anything so it's convenient. I strongly suggest you to try this one!
