Cheongwadae Three Generation Myeong i bossam kalguksu is the famous must-go restaurant in Asan. It is a franchise restaurant, and it is not the head shop. Even though there are only some restaurants in Korea, there are two franchise restaurants in Asan. Three presidents of Korea enjoyed the foods of the restaurant. I want to have a meal there. Now, here we go!

There are two franchise restaurants in Asan: Asan franchise restaurant and Onyang franchise restaurant. I visited Onyang franchise restaurant that is close to Dogo hot springs and downtown. Even though it is close to downtown, there are only rice paddy and field around the restaurant. So you should not wander in the road.

Cheongwadae Three Generation restaurant is operated by chef Lee Guen-bae, who made foods for the former president Roh Tae-woo, Kim Young-sam and Kim Dae-Jung. I wondered what foods the president had had.

Let's see the menu. The main menu of Cheongwadae Three Generation restaurant is Myeong i bossam and Kalguksu. As I ate barbecue last night, I ordered Cheongwa Kalguksu and Sagol-tteok-mandu-guk(Sliced Rice Cake and Dumpling Soup). They cost 8,000 won and 7,000 won respectively. It is quite expensive. I wonder what ingredients have been used.

Sagol-tteok-mandu-guk(Sliced Rice Cake and Dumpling Soup) that my wife ordered has been served at first. As its name, rice cake and dumplings were put in the soup. The amount was quite huge.

It is interesting that big dumplings and small dumplings are put together. :-)

Since Cheongwadae Three Generation restaurant is a franchise restaurant, it uses dumplings that are produced in the head shop. I was sorry about that, but meat dumpling was quite delicious. Small dumpling tastes like instant dumpling.

I thought small dumpling would be not delicious, but it was out of this world! Well, instant dumpling is quite delicious, though.

The soup is made of cow bone, and it is clean and aromatic. You would be very surprised. The soup of Mandutguk is awesome.

This is “Cheongwa kalguksu”, the most popular kalguksu menu in the restaurant. Like Mandutguk, the soup is made of cow bone. It is quite different from ordinary kalguksu.

Kalguksu, beef, egg slices and green onion are put in the deep meat broth. It looks like gomtang(beef-bone soup) without kalguksu noodles.

Like Sagol-tteok-mandu-guk, the soup is deep and aromatic. However, while the soup of mandu-guk is very deep, that of kalguksu is light and clean. I ate away the food since I love beef soup and the weather is cold. It is out of this world!

The noodle of kalguksu is thinner than ordinary noodle. It is so delicious as the noodle has soaked deep soup. The noodle is chewy but soft. Dumpling soup is delicious, but not as much as kalguksu. Kalguksu is perfect! Why don't you enjoy the foods that the former presidents had had?
