Gimhae-si is located in the east of Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea. It is located in the west of Nakdonggang river. It was the capital of Garakguk, the central country of Gaya federation, from the middle 1C to the late 4C.
The population is 0.527 in the late November, 2014. It is the second largest population in Gyeongsangnam-do following Changwon-si. The population passed over 0.5 million in October, 2010. Gimhae Hanok Experience Center
You can experience traditional Korean hanok and learn the wisdom of our ancestors. You can stay hanok, and eat traditional Korean Table d'hote. The houses of yangban in the Joseon dynasty period have been reproduced. Folk daily supplies would attract your attention.

Gimhae National Museum
Gimhae national museum displays various relics of Geumgwan Gaya, so you can see the life style of old people. It exhibits tools of war like Changdonggeom and armor, daily goods like earthenware, and accessories for free.

Gimhae Astronomical Observatory
It is the only civil observatory in Youngnam. It is meaningful that it succeeds the observatory of Gaya. There are exhibition dong and observatory dong. You can observe vivid stars in the night sky through the astronomical telescope in observatory dong.

Royal Tomb of King Suro
It is the representative tourist attraction in Gimhae. It is the tomb of Kim Su-ro, the founder of Geumgwan Gaya in A.D.44. The huge circular burial mound tomb is so dignified.

Daeseong-dong Tomb Museum
The museum embodies the shape of helmet of Gaya's warrior. It exhibits bronze mirrors, earthenware and ironware excavated from Daeseong-dong Tomb that is for Gaya's ruling class. You can see No.29 and No. 39 ancient tombs. They have been displayed as it is.
