One Ondolbang(Room with the Korean floor heating system) and one Bed room, Pyeongchang Hanwha Resort Phoenix Park Red building
I stayed at the red building of Hanwha Resort Phoenix Park for this Pyeongchang trip. Pyeongchang area is well-developed accommodation region, such as hotels, condominiums, and bed and breakfasts because there are many ski resorts. There are dozens of accommodations in 2-3km because golf links, swimming pools, and ski resorts are crowded. I didn't care where to go, but I had company. We chose Hanwha Resort because of different preferences and low price.

Now, pink building is under remodeling. It has been 5 years since this red building was remodeled. After remodeling of the pink building, this red one might be set to remodel. I did the off-season travel on a weekday, so there were less people than usual and the cost of accommodation was low. It was perfect.

It has PC room, arcade, karaoke room, billiard room, table tennis room, etc, but the convenience store and Dunkin Donuts run 24 hours a day caught my eyes. I don't like buffet breakfast so I will leave after having some coffee and donuts here. I lacked beer in the night and went to the convenient store several times. ^^*

This is 30-pyeong of sweet room. The sweet room doesn't have something special. It just has an Ondolbang(Room with the Korean floor heating system) and bed room, table, and sofa. It seemed not quite clean since it had been remodeled long time ago, generally it looked like a clean private house.
The Ondolbang has a mirror, closet, and many rough and clean blankets and pillows. 5 people can stay in this 30-pyeong room. Bed room is prepared for 2 people and Ondol room is for 3 people. You can add maximum 2 people to 5 people.

The sink is out of the washroom. No one might wash his/her hair here, but if there are some people who would like to do, it would be better to use bathroom in the bed room. Remember that both two washrooms don't have bidet on toilet and they don't have bath tub, either.
The bed room is pleasingly clean. Basically all the bedding and towels are clean and rough. It seems above criticism without bidet.
In the kitchen, there are refrigerator, electric rice cooker, cups, dishes, and kitchen tools, as enough as there is no problem for 5-member family to heat up food at night or boil coffee. I haven't cooked rice at the accommodation like here, but they must be set as many people use them, right?
There are also small TV including HD cable channels and good WiFi so you can freely use your laptop and smart phone. People who use much data every month can freely use them. I don't have to worry about consumption of data in Korea because it has WiFi everywhere.

I have often visited Pyeongchang in winter, but it looks nice and cool in summer, as well. The landscape beyond the window is green and it makes me feel comfortable, but be the landscape of much pure white snow will be stretched out in winter. There must be many slopes for ski behind me.

There is Blue Canyon in front of the condo! Unfortunately, there are only a few people because of the disease MERS. I often find that during special holidays, TVs say there would be a few expressways with big road congestion but they end up having much less cars. This situation seems to happen due to the similar effect of media. It's ironic situation that apartment has the most amount of people because they are worried about danger and don't go out.

I've never seen this kind of situation that the water park is almost empty in summer. Pyeongchang is known as the tourist site and streets in the city, Pyeongchang, are usually filled with foreigners. However, the number of people who I met during this trip was less than the one of those who I met at the apartment. You will be able to guess how less people were there. A boy in the picture above is my nephew.

Recently many elementary schools were closed because of MERS. I was accompanied by my and nephew who was bored and sister-in-law. You can get significant discount, if you present the discount card except for peak-season which is from late July to early August. Prices in the picture are for peak-season. Actually one-day ticket costs 22,000 won for adults and 17,000 won for children but the prices seemed similar because you can get 30~35% of discount when you present the credit card which belongs to discount cards. It was the cheapest water park I have ever visited.

The Blue Canyon in summer can be like this! It's the perfect time to travel for those who don't like crowded places. I'm afraid of crowded places, as well, but according to my experience, places that are supposed to be busy have fewest numbers of people. Only the apartment was swarm with people. Even I went see a doctor yesterday and I was the only client. There were 5 nurses, 3 doctors, and only one patient. The small store in front of apartment was the most crowded place.

Usually we need to wait for between 30 minutes and an hour in summer to ride this slide, but my nephew rode it alone whole day. There were more safety guards than visitors and he might have felt like he got one-to-one guard. In uniform society, the public tend to be swayed by media. Some people might think going outside is dangerous and gather making the place that is usually quiet very crowded. Other people might let the disease grow by not going to hospital. I would like to urge you to go for a trip in times like this. You will see quiet view of summer in either mountain or valley.
