Golden sunset of Kkotji beach, the beautiful place in Korea recommended by CNN
I visit Kkotji beach in sunset whenever I travel to Anmyeondo island, Taean. It was designated as one of 50 beautiful must-go tourist attractions in Korea by CNN. It has really beautiful sunset. Other beaches of Anmyeondo island would be the same, but it appears more dramatic with Halmibawi and Harabibawi rocks. Definitely. It is within five minutes walking distance. When you cross the red flower bridge, you will find the beach.

The flower bridge is located in the end of Noeul-gil, the fifth course of Taean coast road. The road does not have starting and endring point. But anyways, it is about 12 km from Sandy beach port, Sambong beach, Duyeo beach to Kkotji beach. It is good to depart Sandy beach port in time, and arrive at Kkotji beach in sunset.

Halmibawi and Harabibawi rocks look so beautiful on the flower bridge. This is time for ebb tide, so rocks will be sunken in the sea within a minute.

While there is a red bus cafe in Sandy beach port, there is a yellow bus in Kkotji beach. The windows are open to the ceiling. It means you must see the sea by standing on your own, not through the side windows. It's so fun.

Bangpoang port and Kkotji beach would have been totally different places without flower bridge. It is good to walk here and there. Seagulls would take a break after dinner. If you have Saewookkang, why don't you take it out? Since seagulls of Anmyeondo island so love the snack that they would gather around you. Many people take a picture like that.

The sun is setting and the water is coming, but you must visit Halmibawi and Harabibawi rocks. The left is Halmibawi rock and the right is Harabibawi rock. The Japanese black pines and pine trees cover Harabibawi rock, and pine trees are standing on the crack of Halmibawi rock, which makes beautiful landscape.

Which animal did eat and spit the sand? It seems a clam or a conch did it. It is funny shape. :-)
The ecology of Kkotji beach is alive. Sea cucumber, warty sea squirt, spoon worm and even starfish are spread all over the sand beach.

People are gathering in order to see sunset. Kkotji beach is huge with 3.2km length and 400m width. Since it has clean water, it is crowded with many simming people. It is the most popular course among coast roads of Taean.

Someone flies a bird shaped kite on the beach, and one seagull shows curiosity while turning round and round.

It is beautiful whether water comes in or not. Pebbles like volcanic stones of Jeju island make a path. It is being shaded as the sun is setting, which makes a beautiful landscape.

The legend about Halmibawi and Harabibawi rocks has been passed down. Jang Bogo, the general of United Silla, ruled the sea and established bases around Anmyeondo island. And he detached general Seung-eon as a supervisor. He had a wife named Mido, and they shared good marital chemistry. One day, Seung-eon went to war, and Mido was dead on the rock after waiting her husband. People called it Halmibawi rock. Thereafter, a huge rock erected beside Halmibawi rock with the sound of thunder, which has been called as Harabibawi rock.

The sun is setting fastly beside Halmibawi rock. Meanwhile, coast guards come up to me and say, “please get out of the island!” Ok. I got it.

The ecology is alive in the crack of Halmibawi and Harabibawi rocks. Conches are moving inside the crack. It is creepy, but amazing.

I pick a conch and put it on my hand. And then, it comes out of the shell. It's so cute.

Now the water has been risen. Two huge rocks have gradually turned into islands.

The water is risen, and the sun is setting between two rocks. Sunrise is touching, but sunset is also dramatic.

Photographers are occupied with taking a picture. If you like tracking, why don't you visit coast road? In particular, Noeul-gil, the fifth course, is the most beautiful road among 100km coast roads. Sunset in Kkotji beach is the best. So people named “Noeul-gil”. Since it worths to come, I recommend to visit here in time during Anmyeondo island, Taean traveling.
