Hôtel Douce is famous for Eclair and plain bread. People from the neighborhood buy bread, and people in the store are ordering drinks and desserts.

I ordered an Americano, Earl Grey Canelé(which looks like a mini muffin above left), Croquant Eclair(bottom left), and Caramel Eclair(bottom right).

It was my first time seeing and eating a canelé. I googled the origin and found that it was a small pastry dessert. I liked this the most. The outside is caramelized, and there's a bit of a burnt taste and scent. I liked the deep flavor of it. The smell of Earl Grey and Vanilla inside it is soft and moist. It may feel a little small, but it has a condensed taste.

Eclair is a kind of chou. Put cream in a long chou and put chocolate, caramel or cream on the surface. There are many different kinds of cream and fondant which can make it taste and color differently. Croquant Eclair is crispy and moist inside. Caramel Eclair has luxurious caramel scents. Both are good desserts that go well with Americano. One thing, their coffee tastes bland and monotonous.

This is the cross section of the Canelé that I enjoyed the most. Can you feel the differnce between the outside and the inside? It is the menu that I would like to recommend the most in Hôtel Douce.
