The Hwanggang Leports Festival, one of Gyeongsangnam-do’s major summer festivals, takes place on the banks of Hwanggang River. Festival programs include a marathon held on the shallow waters of the river, catching sweetfish with bare hands, a beach futsal, and a volleyball tournament. The various leisure sports that can be enjoyed in Hapcheon, as well as the beautiful sights that the town has to offer, make this festival a great festival for the whole family.
