In fall, what to see?
How did you spend your summer vacation?
In this summer, rash guard was a big hit instead of bikini. And a lot of people enjoyed water sports like windsurfing, surfing and snorkeling. Camping was popular with many families, friends and couples in forest and valley. Young people enjoy more activities than old ones.
What is the season for representing Korea? Tropical forest, palm tree, and beach with transparent sea may occur to your mind in summer. In fall, you may think of mountains and fields turned red and yellow. Korea has more mountains than neighboring countries, which form 70 percent of the country. When it turns fall, whole land of Korea is colored with red and yellow. It would stand for Korea's most beautiful season.
Fall is the best season to travel Korea, as hot summer is over. It is good to take a walk and climb a mountain due to cool weather. Since there are a lot of tracking courses around beautiful landscapes, it is the best time to travel. Forget about busy days, and stroll along the forest and valley. Your body and mind would be fresh, and you would become healthy.
Color of summer is dark green of forest or blue and dark bluish green of sea. Have you spent cool vacation? If so, color of fall would be red and yellow of fallen leaves. Where can you feel the color of fall? Historical and traditional places like ancient palace, mountains and fields and Buddhist temple would come across your mind.
Changgyeonggung palace, which had been built by Sejong the Great for his father, became tragic site to Chang Hee Bin and Sado crown prince. It had been fallen so low as to become an amusement park by Japan, but was restored to palace again in 1986. Therefore, Chang Kyung Won as a botanical garden and zoo is more familiar with middle ages and old ages than Changgyeonggung palace.
I think ancient palace and Buddhist temple are the best places to welcome fall. Among them, Changgyeonggung palace is easy to visit, and taste an atmosphere of Korea since various traditional art performances are held.

Namiseom island is one of the most popular tourist attractions of fall. It is easy to visit on weekend as it is close to Seoul. Namiseom island is known as the place of exile for general Nami. However, the grave of general Nami is fake, because he spent his last days in exile in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Namiseom island is an artificial island, which was created by construction of Cheongpyong dam in 1944.
Namiseom island is private owned. And it was famous drama location, which is a hot tourist attraction for many visitors. When Namiseom island was an amusement park, a lot of glass bottle and cans were thrown out. But they were turned into art works, and decorated in all over the island. Since there are a lot of ginkgo trees, you can see wonderful yellow landscape on the end of October.

Seoraksan Mountain, Naksansa Temple
Many people say magnificent view of Korea is Geumgangsan mountain, but we cannot visit there because it is located in North Korea. However, while there is Geumgangsan mountain in North Korea, there is Seoraksan mountain in South Korea.
Since it is very rough, ordinary people cannot easily climb Seoraksan mountain. But you can look around Ulsanbawi rock, Biseonsa, Naksansa temple and Sokcho without climbing it, so it is one of the must go places of Gangwon-do. And Seoraksan mountain with beautiful autumn leaves is the best fall landscape of Korea.

Wild flowers are in full bloom in spring, and sea of grass is swayed by wind in summer. Splendid autumn leaves are grown along ranch's valley in fall. The world of snow presents a grand sight in winter. It is so beautiful all over the season.

Gangcheonsan Country Park of Sunchang
Gangcheonsan, which is located close to the northwest of Sunchang downtown, is just 583 meters. But it has various landscapes as much as big mountains, so a lot of tourists visit there.
Valleys' of Gangcheonsan have a number of waterfalls, so it is beautiful vacation spot both in summer and fall.

As you may know, Tripitaka Koreana is housed in Haein temple, which was the national temple of Goryeo dynasty. It is one of the national temples of Korea. You can stroll along sori-gil of Haein temple, and enjoy the atmosphere of fall.
If you walk along sori-gil, which stretches out three kilometers from parking lot, you will find Haein temple at the end of the road.
You must see Haeinsa Temple Janggyeong Panjeon, which is registered in UNESCO World Heritage.

Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do has beautiful mountain, swamp and river. I will introduce you
Jeongyang Swamp ecological park, which is located in Daeyang-myeon, Hapcheon-gun. It is the rear of swamp of Acheoncheon, and very beautiful. It is a habitat of various birds and plants, and has high ecological preservation value.
It is good to stroll and observe the ecology of swamp, as it currently installed wooden observatory deck and red clay road. The sound of birds' flapping and reed make my mind peaceful.
