Taebaek Coal Museum: Cheonjedan-gil 195, Taebaek-si
Coal was once the main energy resource of Korea. You can see miners who mined coal in poor surroundings. I visited the museum once before. But I wanted to come again since it is well organized.
Construct Outline of the Museum: Coal is the only natural resource of Korea. It has played a pivotal role in supplying fuel for family and industries, so it has contributed to the economic development of the country. However, with the development of material civilization and increasing demand of clean energy, it has been radically declined. The museum shows the development of coal industry, and historical facts of coal. It lets people know the achievement of miners who were the pillars of industry. Even worse, cheap minerals from Australia and China have dwarfed domestic industries of coal, tungsten and iron ore.
