Recreational Forest in Anmyeondo Island and Arboretum
There are a lot of pine forests in Anmyeondo island. You can see beautiful pine trees in anywhere. Recreational forest in anmyeondo island would be the best. Natural pine forest over 100 years old covers the entire forest. Kkotji beach is close to the recreational forest. So if you pass by there, stop the car for a moment. I did so, too.

The pine tree of Anmyeondo island is called “anmyeon pine tree”. Since it is of high quality, it was used to make ships in the Goryeo dynasty period, and also used to build palaces in Joseon dynasty period. In Japanese colonial era, Governor-general of korea made profits by selling the trees.

Trails have been well made in recreational forest in Anmyeondo island. There are five courses from 15 minutes course to one hour course. When you take a walk, look up the sky. Beautiful pine trees would overlook you.

There are a lot of cute places around trails. That couple shouts “aya, aya” while walking on Jiapkkil. Haha.

I found Wanggom willow tunnel in the middle of the path. It only grows in Anmyeondo island, called as large-leaf paniculous supplejack. Green and white flowers blossom in summer, but they were already gone this time.

Right. Many flowers blossom in September and October. I saw the red color under the pine tree forest, and a handful of flowers are blossoming.

Let's look close. The flower looks extraordinary. Flower stamens look like as if they were shining optical fibers. It is not fragrant, but amazingly beautiful.

There is a forest house which is popular with many people due to the cheap price and good facilities. Forest house for three people costs 26,000 won. And the price is getting more expensive as it is getting bigger.

Guess the size of pine tree comparing with lying people on the lawn. Many people take a nap under the shadow. I am concerned that they may be bitten by mosquitoes. :-)

After coming out of the 20 minutes course, I found the rose of Sharon. It is so beautiful. But there are insects inside every flowers. I read the article about the rose of Sharon and Korean history. I really agree with it. Even though it is infested with insects, or falling the floral leaf, it is always elegant.

It is really hot day, but it is cool inside the forest. I am going to go to the parking lot again, but I am still attached to beautiful and elegant forest.

Recreational forest of Anmyeondo island is close to arboretum. If you buy a ticket from the ticket office, you can look around two places. If you walk too long course, you may be hard to look around arboretum. Arboretum is as large as recreational forest.

It is quite a steep uphill road. It is also covered with a lot of pine trees over 100 years old. I am so refreshing.

Arboretum is separated into several sections. There are 32 districts such as royal azalea garden, magnolia garden, evergreen tree garden, banhyangsoo garden, Cheongjagoo garden and Yackyongsoo garden. There is a pavilion with a small pond. Cute carps follow the people to eat feed.

There is a small royal palace right next to the pavilion, and it is called “Yangbaekttang”. Anyone can rest in the palace. It was donated by Chung Ju-yung of Hyundai Group. So this section is called Asanwon.

If you saw beaches a lot in Anmyeondo island, why don't you stroll through the woods in
recreational forest and arboretum? It is really beautiful, cool and refreshing. But if you want to visit two places together, you'd better to take a short course. You may be exhausted. But it is truly beautiful place.
