Mimesis Art Museum
Designed by Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza, who is referred to as the “last master of modernist architecture”, Mimesis Art Museum has a total ground area of 1,100 pyeong on a 1,400 pyeong land site, built with 3 stories above ground (1 story underground). It is famous for its multiple exhibition spaces held in a single mass.
The white exhibition space with various curves eliminated artificial lighting and brought in sunlight, providing a feast of soft and delicate lights that change in time.
Mimesis Art Museum was introduced on all kinds of global media even before its opening, and is attracting countless visitors and exerting a significant influence on architects all over the world.
The museum also holds special exhibitions by famous artists and offers art programs, receiving attention as a cultural complex.
The cafe and Book & Art Shop in the museum are open regardless of the museum’s official closing day (every Monday). You can purchase premium design stationery goods by Mimesis Design at reduced prices. You can also enjoy all kinds of foods and beverages in the cafe and terrace, such as coffee, fresh juice made from fruits in season, and red bean sherbet.
