Buan-gun is located in Byeonsanbando, western Jeollabuk-do, South Korea. The seat of a county office is Buan-eup, and administrative district is one eup, 12myeon. Saemangeum Exhibition Hall-Saemangeum Embankment
The construction of Saemangeum exhibition hall began in 2010 and finished in 19th, July, 2012 after old building had been demolished. The building is one story below and three above the ground. It shows the history of Korean reclamation technology development, a pending issue of
territorial usage, improvement countermeasures of water quality of upper stream basin, main sanctuary of migratory bird in Korea, model explanation of Saemangeum district and Besugammun. You can also see satellite picture of Saemangeum, chronological reclaimed land of new mud flat created after reclamation, standard cross-section of breakwater, formation of tourism area and enterprise effects. It is a good experience center for visitors.

Water Cultural Center
Buan Dam
The construction of Buan dam began in February, 1990 and finished in December, 1996 in order to supply water in Buan and adjacent area. Many tourists visit here as it has beautiful natural landscape. Along with water cultural center, it has fountain lawn plaza and hot springs nearby. It is the best place for family to take a break.

Buan Celadon Museum
Buan celadon museum was established in Yucheon-ri, Boan-myeon, Buan-gun where the world best inlaid celadon of Goryeo had been produced. It was open on April, 2011. It exhibits 200 relics of Goryeo celadon produced in Yucheon-ri, and shows the production process. You can understand pottery culture through pottery experience and four dimensional image experience. It is the cradle of pottery, where many students and potters visit for educational experience and development of pottery industry.

Chaeseokgang Cliff (No.13 state-designated cultural property)
Chaeseokgang cliff, which represents Buan, is located in Gyeokpo waterfall, the west side of Byeonsanbando. Granite-gneissic in pre-Cambrian Era creates basal bed, and sedimentary rock in Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic Era(about 70milllion years ago) makes bedding. Outer layer has been created as if tens of thousands of jacks had been piled up by sea erosion, so you can feel the mystery of the nature.
Sea Cave in Chaeseokgang Cliff
It was named sea cave in Chaeseokgang cliff because it looks like the place where Li Taibo often visited. It was selected as one of 99 must-go tourist attractions in Korea.

Buan Eco Park
Buan eco park was made by blocking 677.662㎡ mud flat in order to prevent flooding around
Julpo-ri and Upo-ri, Julpo-myeon. It was designated as coastal wetland protected area. It consists of
reed field with10 distance, wild flower garden and Baduk small park. It is famous for natural space with primitive natural condition. Moreover, it is popular filming site of SBS drama,”Lovers in Prague” broadcast in 2005. Julpo tideland marsh was registered on Ramsar wetlands in January, 2010. It is popular with many people as an experience center for ecological education.

Jikso Falls
It is the second one among eight scenic views of Byeonsan. Water fallen from 30 meters above is the best part of this place. It is located in the middle of Naebeonsan mountain. It has been called as
Samjeol of Buan along with Imaejang, the woman poet, and Yoo Hee Kyung. It has so beautiful landscape that some people even say “Without seeing Jikso falls and Junggye valley, you cannot talk about Byeonsan.”

Seokjeong Literature Museum
Seokjeong literature museum is the cradle of literature development that succeeds literature spirit of Sin Seok-jeong, the master of modern poetic literature. It consists of permanent exhibition room with five representative volume of poems, posthumous collection of poems and handwritten manuscripts, exhibition room with many art works and seminar room where you can see his life story. The museum has about 5,000 relics.

Gomsoang Port, Gomso Salted Seafood, Salt Pond
Gomso is famous for bay salt produced in broad salt pond, and salted seafood fermented with fresh fish and shells. It is crowded with many tourists on weekends since it has a large complex of salted seafood which produces various salted seafood.

Naesosa Temple
Naesosa temple was built by Hyegu Dutta in 633. 600 meters of fir woodland path from Iljumun gate to gateway of lokaplas was designated as one of 100 beautiful roads. The woodland path is the first course for traveling Naesosa temple, which gives off freshness. Daeungbojeon hall, which was designated as No.291 national treasure, is elegant and peaceful. The temple with Gwaneumbong peak has cozy atmosphere, and is selected as the right place of Gidodorang. It shows off splendid cherry blossoms in spring, fresh fir woodland path in summer, autumn leaves in fall and snowy landscape in winter. It is a famous temple in the region with a lot of legends.

Wolmyeongam Hermitage
Wolmyeongam hermitage, which is located in the top of Ssangseonbong, was established by Buseolgusa in 692. It has beautiful landscape along with Wolmyeongmuae and Seohaenakjo, the two among eight scenic views of Byeonsan. Buddhist novel “Buseoljeon” and “Paljukssi” written by Buseolgusa have been passed down.

Gaeamsa Temple
It was built by Myoryeonwangsa in 634, and its main hall has been designated as No.292 national treasure. In the backside of Gaeamsa temple, there is Juryu castle from side to side which was the center of Baekje revival movement. Rock ugeum with Buddha's face overlooks Byeonsan from the mountaintop. There is a cave on rock ugeum, which was formed during the final resistance of Baekje. It is called as Wonhyobang or Bockshingul, and seemed to be used in the battle. As time goes by, it has been used as a place to pray.
