The most beautiful trail in the world, Saryeoni Forest trail 'Red uphill' 붉은오름

I go on a trip to Jeju Island annually, but if you let me to choose only one place which was most impressive to me, I would choose Saryeoni Forest trail's 'Red uphill' side.

When walking through the place, you'll get a strange feeling that cannot tell whether it's a dream or reality.

I always figure the way to go to slack roads. Saryeoni Forest trail has 3 entrances. We will now go to the path, which goes up to 'Red uphill' direction.

First, look at the picture and I'll introduce the way that we''ll go today. I get the thought that people are very simple. looking at this. As in the picture seen right before, 'Red uphill''s entrance doesn't have any cars or people.

On the other hand, at the number 1 entrance the road are filled with cars parked. It's so crowded, that it's hard to park. Also there are lots of people. I think people think that 'number1' shold be the first to go.

Standardized education's power is very powerful. I will go up by 'number 10', the middle number.

I went in to the place numbered 10. There's nobody. As said in the map, I started from number 1 to 15, and no matter how beautiful the trail for 'Red uphill' direction is, there were not many people. By the way, this tracking course's length is about 15km. The road's ups and down isn't that big, but if you try to complete the course without any preparation, you might be in trouble. Water and some snacks are essential.

Rain had fallen down, so the atmosphere got very weird. Both sides of the trail are filled with Cedar trees.

When I went a bit up, I saw unique Jeju tombs. Jeju's tombs are made with rocks. Maybe these rocks are not brought from somewhere. I could see these rocks in the fields also, if you dig anywhere, you can fing these rocks. Maybe when they dig spots for tombs, these rocks come out, and they had piled these rocks because there's nowhere else to put them. Everybody ret in peace, I had taken photos with no sense of honor.

Can you see why this place is 'Red uphill', by looking at the picture? The mud on the ground are all deep red. It reminds me of the red carpet, seen at academy awards. The actual sight is much more pretty. The weather is now foggy, and it started to rain.

I wonder what's at the end of that road. In front of this kinds of roads there are signs, and they're all connected to Jeju Olle Route.

With the rain slightly falling and there's nobody around makes me very happy and refreshing.

In the woods there are pretty plants that I see for the first time. There are plants that look like star candies. Looks similar to Callitriche japonica Engelm, but I don't think so.

I walked for a long time, about 30 minutes and I finally met a person. It's very welcoming. Hm, to shine up, a picture certainly needs a model. This picture is lightened up thanks to you guys! So, how do you thonk of 'Red uphill'? If you wlk Jeju Olle Route or looking for a tracking course, you should come. On rainy days or blurry days you'll love it. I assure you ^^*

It was short, but because I walked for an hour, I suddenly felt hunger, so I ate my emergency snack Jeju Olle-gil honey bread. I bought one at 1,000won, and many other places sell them at 1,200won.

Olle-gil honey bread is really delicious. The outer side has almonds and the inner side is filled with adzuki beans.

I ate once and wanted to buy more, but it doesn't sell at marts or convenience stores. I should go to small town shops, or local markets.

Jeju Racehorse Ranch, where racehorses are raised 제주경마목장

This time, let's go to a unique place, different from other tourist sites. It's a racehorse Ranch, managed by the Korean Horse Affairs Association, where you can feel like you are in a dream. And it's free. I went there on their holiday.

Of course we're not supposed to go in on holidays, but I just went in. And I asked the security if I can take a look, and he said yes! Yay~ ※ Every mon/tuesdays are holidays.

The day I visited was a rainy day. And there were no people, giving a silent atmosphere. I love it ^^*

Taking an entire look takes 40~50 minutes, with 3.5km length. For those who have difficulty in walking or those who hate walking, bicycles are ready. Of course it's free. Bicycle's conditions were quiet good, and there were also kid's bicycles.

There were nobody, cause it was a holiday and the rain and fog added a good atmosphere.

Here at Jeju Racehorse Ranch, they raise stallions, manage them and research to foster superior racehorse genes. Stallion means horses that are for breeding good breeds of horses.

The wide field is defined into compartments with plenty of spaces, and each compartments had one male horse. Maybe it's to make the horses to stay in comfort, without stress. There were at least one tree planted there for the horses to getaway from hot sunlight and rain. The atmosphere was great.

I tried to push my head in the paddock carelessly, and almost got into trouble. Or maybe, this guy, not me hehe

Wow, look at the appearance of this horse, it's really nice. He's a ransom of 25 million. 25 million! His treatment is better than people. It costs $15,000 for breeding once, even though he is a little cheaper than the other kids. Later I was surprised to see the full price of the other boys. And because the horses are tamed in the hands of people, when I called "Wei" in a distance, the horse ran to me at the blink of an eye. It was amazing.

If you want a very special walk in Jeju, you can not put out tracking in Jeju racehorse ranch. If you come on a non-holiday day of race horses, you can also experience riding on them. The road is not difficult to walk around, nor dangerous, so you'll be able to walk hand in hand and see the horses quietly, walking on a road like in a dream. I recommend.

His ransom is $ 37 billion, and the mating fee is $ 25,000, for one time. Whew! In the photo his body size looks smaller, but his actual look is particularly big and has a muscler body. He also was far away from me, but when I called him "hwoyi", he ran to me and stood at attention, hehe. He looked at the camera as I held it sideways to take a photo.

There are horses at both side of this endless road. The drizzling rain made a good atmosphere today, and I felt very good. Such a great view for free, and just the two of us walking was very nice. Those who read this article can also persuade the security guardian on a holiday. A heaven for two will open. ^^ *

But there are not just horses in the paddock, there are also some deer(?), and Those looking like a gazelles(?). Because of the similar color you should look carefully, there are deer-like animals posing at the camera. They are very keen, so when you get close to them in 100 meters, they stick their heads up simultaneously and keep alerted until I go away.

Jeju Island's mysterious hidden landscape, Donnaeko valley 'Mandarin Falls' 원앙폭포

Where the boundary of sanghyodong and topyeongdong is, at Jeju Seogwipo city, there is a good spot for summer swimming called Donnaeko valley. Donnaeko is a name meaning the wild boar (Don) streams (nae), entrance (ko), the entrance of the place where wild boars drink water.

The place had rocks and clear blue water, and the cool breeze summed up, making a perfect place to play with your family, soaking your feet in summer. Shall we go in?

Donnaeko valley has a small parking lot at the entrance, and you can meet the 'Mandarin Falls' after walking in for 300 meters from the parking lot.

Jeju Island has a good thing that wherever you travel, even the Mt Halla has fine trails for visitors to access easily. Where ever I go, I can comfortably walk around.

After walking in 200 meters, I can see the mysterious appearance in front of the Mandarin waterfalls.

Wow~ look at the water color. It's really clear and clean. What's even nicer is that this is place isn't a non-swimming zone. You can get yourself under the falling water while swimming.

It's really having an appearance of a waterfall hidden deep in the mountains, right? I did not swim because the early morning hours were still cold, but soaked my feet splashed. If I came hear in the warm afternoon, I would've probably jumped. ^^ *

So how does the water color come out like this? I can't gauge the depth of the water because it's to clear, but I think probably the middle part will be more than the height of adults, the adult height. It comes out the best place to play moving along with tubes, huh?

The water flows from here and there in to the waterfalls. The water coming out from the rock surrounded by moss is very clear and clean.

I can't show you all the things I saw with my eyes, but I guess the atmosphere is half shown in the picture. The actual view is the mystic and small waterfall, hiding in the surrounding woods.

The water from the waterfall quietly flows away into the valley. This side of the valley is led to Donnaeko valley, a good place to swim in the summer. It's a perfect condition to lay a mat in the woods and eat watermelon and spend the day.

It's not hot, because the narrow valley is highly dense with overgrown bushes!

The water was so clear and cool, I made all my clothes wet except my underwear. hehe~ And half of my camera got wet also, sobbing .....

For those who want to play in a quiet place, or who want to forget about the heat by the waterfall's mysterious appearance, Mandarin waterfall of Donnaeko valley is a place to stop by. Maybe you'll fall in love with the place. I recommend.

Hwanguji Beach 12 Caves, a fantastic sea pool created by the sea 황우지해안열두굴

Do you know a place called Oedolgae Rock? Lots of domestic and foreign tourists come to see a large rock that stands alone on the sea, but nearby, there is a wonderful coast that is hidden, where only few people know.

There are two naturally formed small pools, where I strongly recommend for swimming in peace, in summer. Of course, if someone reads this article, there will be lots of people again, but it's too beautiful to know this place alone.

Now, this is how to visit. If you came to Oedolgae by the instructions of navigation, there will be a big free parking lot. After parking, there will be a milestone for 'Solbit Sea' Cafe across the road. Then go down that way.

'Solbit Sea' is Jeju Olle's Information center and street café, when you go down to the sea along the small road, a nice place will come out. Can you see these people? Those people all came to Oedolgae through this way. ^^ *

There were a lot of people walking on the Olle route. I'm thinking about to finish walking the entire Olle route, for about 15 days someday.... But I'm not sure whether my physical stamina could stand it hmm....

If you come straight down along the way you will see the 'Monument for Battle'. Can you see the small way at the right side of the monument? About 50, 60 meters down that way, a beach comes out. By the way, this monument is to celebrate the place where a North Korean spy who was annihilated in 1968.

Yay~ the sea is calling me! Today, maybe I could swim for the first time in this year!

If you go down this narrow way about 50 meters, you will meet the beach.

There are holes in the cliff far away. The reason why this beach's name is 'Hwanguji Beach 12 Caves', is because the Japanese army drilled the caves to hide weapons, during the second World War. There are more heartbreaking stories about this place, but not to make the voyage's atmosphere down, I will not tell......

Tada~ down here, you can meet a natural pool like this!!! Is It's pretty cool, huh? Here, the pool's location or appearance changes a little bit depending on the rising tide and the low tide, and now the state is when the water is almost out, as it was low tide. When the water is complete, the water level is almost until the border of the pool.

The water is very clear. The water which came in the during the rising tide, and couldn't go out during the low tide formed the natural pools. It's really, really nice.

In the water, there are many fishes who also couldn't escape. I put on my snorkeling equipments and played here for a couple of hours, and there were many beautiful small fishes. The impression was smilar to the one I got when I did snorkeling in Saipan.

In addition, there were sea urchins, and also was an elongated looking eel!

The fish were dying to go out, but I happen to go in that water too, guys, may I? That's okay? Yay~

This is another natural pool right next to it. Here's a place where is right next to the before one, but it's a little deeper.

There is a sheer horizontal structure, or the pier used when the Japanese were controlling Korea, it seems to be confined structures made deliberately to keep the water. If you jump off here for diving, it's deep that your feet won't touch the ground, so tubes are essential for swimming here.

It's a pool that's makes you want to jump in, right? The fish are swimming in the blue water.

In the midsummer Jeju's beach, my own pool was completed!!! Sometimes there are people who came to collect shells, but no one came to swim.

So for about two hours the place was completely my own pool. With snorkeling equipments on along with a small tube, floating in the water watching fishes were interesting. I Powerfully! Seriously! Really! Recommend.

After a long swim, I was starving so I devoured three boiled eggs and a bread with coffee, and rested.

Eating eggs with the blue sea is also tasty, now this is a paradise, very good.

I was gonna go after packing up, when another team arrived. So we unpacked our stuff and exchanged our equipments and layed together. That guy catched a sea squirt in the water. There were many sea squirts gathered in the corner of the water, and I thought of catching all of them and make a Bibimbap to eat hehe. This is not a fishing zone of fishermen, so we can take sea squirts and conch fisheries at this zone. As an information, catching sea squirts and conch fisheries at a fishermen's fishing zone might cause you to be accused for theft, so be careful.

However, there are problems swimming at this place, that there isn't a appropriate place to wash. Maybe you can bring water in bottles or wash at the public toilet next to the parking lot, but you should clean thoroughly at your accommodation. If you are looking for a place that is equipped with all the facilities, you can go to a crowded, general beach. When you obtain one, you get to lose one, convenience or beauty, there's the rub. The world doesn't only has good things~!
