Haein Jjimdak, moist soup braised chicken

Is there any other country that enjoys various chicken dishes as much as Koreans do? Fried, baked, boiled. steamed and in addition, each recipe with soy sauce, red pepper powder, curry, chili, cheese, and mala(Chinese spicy and numbing flavor) are keep developing. Among them, jjimdak is a dish that is loved continuously even after it was introduced in fashion.

Today I visited Haein Jjimdak in Suyu-dong.

Haein Jjimdak is located at the end of the food alley near Suyu station. It's not far from the subway station, but it takes some time compared to the distance because you have to go through the crowded food alley. If you walk slowly, you will find it easy.

There are several tables for 4 people. Even though it was a weekend evening, there were no customers, but there were still orders for delivery.

The unique thing about this restaurant is that there are notes on the wall like this. There are traces of guests who came to eat jjimdak left comments.

Basically they only have jjimdak, but there are many different kinds of it. With or without bones, small/medium/large, the thickness of the glass noodles, spicy, extra noodle. I ordered jjimdak with bones and thin glass noodles.

When you finish your order, they bring pickles, corn salad, kimchi sauce. This sauce is unique. It has a texture and taste similar to garlic sauce. You dip the braised chicken in this sauce.

Jjimdak is here. Unlike other jjimdak restaurants, you can keep it warm while you eat. And also it has a lot of soup and green onions unlike others.

It contains chicken, potato, rice cake, mushroom, onion, dumpling, etc. Even if the glass noodles are cooked enough, there still is plenty of soup left. For me, it wasn't good enough to come to eat. I guess it's because I was with someone who can't eat spicy food and ordered soft taste jjimdak. I think it should be a little spicy. It's a good dish to have with a glass of soju because there's plenty of soup.

You must eat fried rice for this kinds of food. The ending is always fried rice. Unfortunately, the fried rice was also far from my favorite, drier texture.

It was Haein Jjimdak that you can eat warm until the end.
