Bukhansan Mountain
Bukhansan Mountain is known as one of the most beautiful mountains in Korea, and is thus referred to as ‘the Alps of Korea’. In terms of administrative district, it is connected throughout Goyang and Yangju (Gyeonggi-do), Dobong-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Jongno-gu, and Eunpyeong-gu (Seoul). Baegundae Peak and Insubong Peak are all in Goyang, and Mangyeongdae Terrace borders on Goyang and Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. Bukhansan Mountain has multiple names, one of which is Hwasan, meaning that it is splendid and beautiful. The entire mountain turns red in spring with azaleas and royal azaleas, and autumn leaves are beautiful to see around Sidanbong Peak. Wonhyobong Peak, Uisangbong Peak, Daenammun Gate, Jungheungsa Temple, and the main ridge of Bukhansan are famous for spring flowers. The red flowers blending in with granite rocks are beautiful.
