Haengjusanseong Fortress

Haengjusanseong Fortress is a fortress built along the ridge at an altitude of 70-100m around the top of Deogyangsan Mountain, and the total circumference is about 1km. The dates during which it was constructed are not known exactly, but it is assumed that it was built in the early Three Kingdoms Period judging from the construction method. This is where the Siege of Haengju took place, in which General Gwon Yul defeated 30,000 Japanese troops with just 3,000 soldiers during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. In addition to its historical significance, you can enjoy the incredibly beautiful and magnificent view of Seoul and the Hangang River at a glance from the top of the fortress. Photographers as well as foreigners visit this place to enjoy the wonderful view. There is also a dock in Haengjuoe-dong below the fortress, but unfortunately there are no ships or ferries. There is also a big park near the dock, which is perfect for a nice walk.
