Gapyeong is a popular touristic site especially in summer, because it has many good valleys to go play. There are also many pensions here and there. Many attractive pensions with colorful lights stand along the highway. My main purpose of trip was to take a rest and refresh my mind, so I stayed at calm and quiet pension.
The Garang Farm Pension is located near the Garden of Morning Calm, 200m away from the main road, so it has no noise and smoke. I could breathe fresh air.
There is a pretty yellow house under the mountain. It made me feel I was in a European countryside. There is only mountain around the house and I felt like I was the only one in the world.
My room was duplex type with a living-cum dining room on the first floor and a bed room on the second floor. Here is the living room on the first floor. There are colorful curtain and wallpaper, and antique furniture. It's very attractive to the women.
There is a big TV against the sofa. The TV has various channels and I could take a rest watching TV with Makgeolli(Korean traditional drink) until late at night.
There are the stairs toward to the bed room, kitchen, and washroom inside the living room. It was so clean and nice that I wondered if this pension was newly built or not. Children will love the stairs. Why do they love stairs? Whenever I go on a trip, I always see children playing on the stairs.
When I went up through yellow stairs, there was the small bed room. The floor was very warm even I was the second floor. I had a very good sleep in the clean, warm bed.
This is a kitchen. Doesn't it look neat? The kitchen was equipped with a refrigerator, dishes, kitchen appliances, and rice cooker, etc. It was good to make a meal for a family of four people.
In the sink, there were various kitchen appliances including dishes, knives, pots, frying pans, and cutting board.
I opened the drawer and found trays, dish towel, dish sponge, tea spoons, and wine opener were well-prepared.
I had had a dinner already, but I felt hungry early in the morning, so I had a bowl Ssamjang Ramen. If you put less soup powder and more ssamjang, the noodle would taste much better.
This is a washroom. Women are especially sensitive to the washroom, but I didn't have to worry about it.The washroom was clean and towels, hair dryer, toiletries were nicely presented.
The room was not big but it was duplex type with a high roof. The high roof made me feel the room was wide-opened. In addition, colorful decorations with green, yellow, and red made the room look alive. The atmosphere of house was similar to the one where I had lived. It reminded me the time when I got married. ^^*
It looks high enough looking down from the second floor. If you come with children, they must be warned not to play around the handrail.
Another strength of the Garang Farm Pension is an indoor barbecue area. I didn't even dream of doing barbecue during the winter trip, but I could do the indoor barbecue. There were no worries about coldness.
It was indoor but there were several big windows that allow to refresh air. I had planned to grill some meat, but I couldn't because I fell down on the ice and my knees got hurt. The owner suggested me to drink Soju together, and I felt sorry that I couldn't join him. I'm sorry~
It's a 'Farm' pension. There is a farm where the owner runs next to the pension. He has run a pear orchard. I got a few of pear juices made of pears farmed last year and it was always belonging with me during the trip.
I could have a good rest at quiet, secluded Garang Farm Pension. The pension was very clean, so I could have a good sleep and good meal.
