It is windy and cold in October. But I visited “Hamheung-style cold buckwheat noodles restaurant” in Suncheon town, because it was hot in the daytime. There are some reknowned naengmyeon restaurants nearby, so you can choose among them. I visited here since I heard that hand-made dumpling is awesome. Now, here we go!

The restaurant is located in Yeonhyang-dong, Suncheon-si, which is close to Suncheonman bay national park and Suncheonman bay natural eco park. So it is convenient to drop by the restaurant after looking around those places.

Now, let's see the menu. There were a number of naengmyeons, but I ordered only mool naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon as I was so hungry. Oh, I ordered a dish of dumplings, too. It takes some time to eat dumplings, because they are just made after the order. The price is reasonable.

Like other naengmyeon restaurant, hot meat broth is served. Why do I have to drink this meat broth while I eat cool naengmyeon? That is because it can stimulate my appetite while eating naengmyeon. It is awesome. I drank a pitcher of meat broth. Haha.

Hand-made dumplings are served quite faster than I expected. In fact, there is a place in the restaurant where chefs make and steam dumplings. The color is amazing!

My mouth is watering with transparent and glossy dumpling skin. It costs 5,000 won for eight dumplings. It is reasonable. How about the taste?

The ingredients are chives, cellophane noodles, meat and scrambled eggs. It is quite large enough, and it is light. I prefer dumplings to naengmyeon, personally.

As I entered the restaurant while the staff members prepared ingredients, dumplings were served prior to naengmyeon. As I finished the food, naengmyeon has been served. This is a bibim naengmyeon.

It is put with sweet and sour hot pepper sauce, slices of boiled meat, chopped cucumbers, chopped pears and an egg. It isn't large enough for an adult man. You should order dumplings or additional noodles if you eat a lot.

As noodles are hand-made, they are chewy and delicious. The sauce is common, but sweet and sour.

This is mool naengmyeon. Like bibim naengmyeon, it consists of slices of boiled meat, chopped cucumbers, chopped pears, an egg and cool meat broth.

The meat broth is fresh and aromatic. You may think it is common at first, but it leaves a pleasant aftertaste. I want to eat sour food when I am exhausted. :-)

Hand-made noodles were so chewy that I fully enjoyed the food. You can eat delicious foods like marinated crabs, grilled short rib patties and rice wrapped in greens in Suncheon town. But if you feel hot under the sunlight at day time, you'd better have cool naengmyeon. The taste is not so special, but it is good enough to quench your thirst. Have a good time in Suncheon!
