Ganggyeong Catholic Church was established in 1945, separated from the main church in Buchang-dong. The priest Park Gi-hun was the first priest. The priest Kim Dae-geon settled after being given ordination. Ganggyeong has Nabawi Catholic Church established by the priest Berrmorel. The priest Kim Dae-geon settled in Ganggyeong after being given ordination. He was given ordination in Church Geumgahang in Shanghai, and read mass. It was the first Samokji in Korean Catholic church. Ganggyeong Catholic Church was built in 1961. The building is modern styled with distinctive spire arch. It was designed by the priest Emile Beaudevin(1897~1976). It has kept the original structure which has high architectural and religious value. Ganggyeong Catholic Church is No. 650 Registered Cultural Properites.
