Ganggyeong mountain, which is also called Ongnyeobong Peak, is located in Bugok-ri, Ganggyeong-eup, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. The mountain has clean river, dense forest and huge field, which make wonderful scenery. Therefore, Taoist fairies enjoyed the beautiful scenery and took a bath in the clean river. All Taoist fairies loved the place, but the daughter of the Great Jade Emperor didn't see the beauty.
She got a permission so descended from the heaven on October. But she died in the world of human beings, and never went back to the heaven. The peak of the mountain was named “Oknyeo” as she died in the place. There is an observatory where you can overlook the downtown of Ganggyeong, Nonsan city, Nongang field and Geumgang river.
Ongnyeobong Peak is one of the eight beautiful places in Nonsan. Songjaejeong pavilion and Beacon Fire Station are the best to overlook the downtown of Ganggyeong and Geumgang river. The beacon fire station of Ongnyeobong Peak was used to contact Whangwha mountain fortress and Noseong fire station. Ongnyeobong Peak is a low peak so that you can climb it within 10 minutes. You can see the first worship site of the Baptist Church in Korea while climbing Ongnyeobong Peak. The religious power would better work when you pray in the thatched house of Ongnyeobong Peak.
There is a huge and nice tree on the top of Ongnyeobong Peak. Sunlight came through the river.
There is a bridge in the place where Nonsan stream and Geumgang river meet together. This is the scenery of Nonsan stream and the bridge. It looks so peaceful.
The old name of Ongnyeobong Peak was Ganggyeong mountain. The beautiful mountain had Suunjeong pavilion and Beacon Fire Station. Beacon was a way of communication in the past.
Are they a couple? Nope. They are a mother and a son. It seems like they have reunion for a long time.
I waited the beautiful sunset in Geumgang river. It was full of fine dust at that time. It would be much more beautiful after the rainy season.
