This destination is a great dating course in Gwangju and place which is always considered to visit due to attractions for children.

It's a 「Jungoe Park」 area regarded as a culture belt of Gwangju with Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju Museum of Art, and Gwangju Folk Museum.

Besides, it's nice that the art museum is not far from 'Gwangju National Museum'. You can come into the park through underpasses around the parking lot of the Gwangju national museum passing through the Honam Expressway.

It seems small space on the map but as I mentioned at the beginning, several museums are spread out over the park. You should not regard it as a simple course.

We decided to visit just one place between Folk Museum and Art Museum and went into the park through a kind of back gate. We will decide where to go after looking around the park.

You can go around the folk museum for free on 'Culture Day', every last Wednesday of the month, but unfortunately today is Sunday. It's already very cheap but the benefit that admission is free is quite attractive to tourists.

Folklore swings are in the park. It might be because the Folk Museum is near here. Children are playing laughing out loud. Isn't the swing in Namwon which has a love story of Yi Mong-nyong and Seong Chun-hyang quite close from here, Gwangju?

Unlike the laughing sound of children, there are stonewall and house with old tiled roofs are at a opposite side. It's a monument house of 'Jo Seon-ho'. It's told that as her parents were in sick, she observed the symptom of disease by tasting their excrement and prolonged their life by cutting her finger and spilled blood on their lips with their last breath. I have thought it's just a filial behavior story in the traditional fairy tale, but the heroin is here.

Many people are taking rest at a lookout shed that looks like a small thatched house. There is a small store behind the lookout shed so it seems good to relieve our thirst.

After passing through the front yard of Folk Museum and passing over the hill, green lawn lies before us red flowers boasts its beauty. The most attractive flower is a sculpture, 'Flower' written in Korean.

Besides, there are several modern art works that are in contrast to the folk museum. We are a little bit tired because we are getting into the second half of our trip but new attractions refresh and encourage us to keep going.

At that time 'Pitter-patter pitter-patter~'. It's a pity. We were about to go around the park but raindrops started to fall.

As time goes by, drizzle is turning into large drops and finally heavy rain cranks up fall. Artwork of heater which is supposed to radiate heat around seems damp with rain.

Sculptures placed throughout the park look like something more special but it's hard to go around the park getting rain-soaked.

We are already soaked in the rain without umbrellas. We might look terrible as this sculpture.

In fact there was record amount of rainfall in southern part of the country that day. At 「Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall」, there are more people looking vacantly at the sky under eaves to take shelter from the rain rather than ones who came for the exhibition.

It's fortune that our next destinations are indoor places like a museum or art gallery. We ran through the heavy rain to the nearby Gwangju Museum of Art at the speed of light.

Raindrops has just started to fall but red large high hill in front of the museum is already full with rain. The bigger problem was it kept being rainy~.
