A filming site of [Doctor Stranger] that is more famous than [My Love From the Star] in China, the Museum in Goesan Jungwon University 중원대학교 박물관
Did any of you hear about the drama titled [Doctor Stranger] made by SBS? This drama has been recently downloaded in China much morethan [My Love From the Star] and it was filmed in Jungwon University in Goesan. This campus doesn't look like a University but more like it's somewhere in China considering its size and unique garden and buildings like a drama filming site. Shall we go and see?
In addition, the school offers five-star hotel, various restaurants, 9-hole/ 18-hole/ 27-hole golf courses, soccer field, outdoor pool, big spa, tennis court, gym, laundry room, salon and a big market in the campus so that the students won't have the need to go outside. More surprising thing is that the annual amount of scholarship for students is on the 4rd place in Korea.
I was amazed by the look of Jungwon University as soon as I entered and it even made me want to get in the university and study all again.
Maybe that's why the flowers in the yard look more beautiful than before.
The building on the left is a few hundred meters long as one. It almost looks like a palace where the King used to live in old times. Amazing, great view!!
Let's get inside the museum at the end of the building.
As I entered the museum after buying the ticket, I was stunned. Enormous dinosaur was standing there! This school makes me wonder any possible way. I was wondering what kind of school this is really. Okay so I'll take a look around the museum first leaving the dinosaur for later.
As a single story museum, this is the biggest one I've ever seen. From left to right of the building, the exhibits were displayed like a maze.
I was passing by the World's Religious View section. It had the exhibits regarding Christian, which is the ideological foundations for Western cultures, Buddhism which encompasses East Asian ideologies and ideas, Islam which connects Western and Eastern cultures, and so on.
I could see the various aspects of statue of the Buddha here.
Plus they had relics used for religious activities. I feel bad I can't show you all because there were too many of them.
In one corner, the relics showed us the lifestyles of our ancestors in the history of Korea, China and Japan. Glamorous ceramics from Korea and China were also display along with swords and amor for Japanese Samurai.
I thought whoever decided to collect these items could be a little geeky. I cannot even list the items displayed here that it makes me dizzy but it was quite fun to watch all those items.
So we're moving to the modern times. This is Material Civilization room that has watches, musical instruments, cameras and accessories. A large projector on the left of the photo was very impressive.
The first generation notebooks made in 1991, old TVs and monitors were displayed in here. Starting from the Apple's first 8-bit computer to the current pentium computers were gathered all in here as well. This is interesting.
I could also see the golden watch that only aristocrats were able to afford in old times. These days, the watch is working with battery but I also remember my father having a watch that he had to wind up manually. I once used it behind his back and punished because I broke it. Well…
Old jukebox that I could see in a movie or TV was there along with old radios, TVs and music albums. Wow, this museum has everything!!!
I went back to the Natural History room where I showed you the dianosaurs' bones before. This is the place I could see the traces of lost time including stuffed insects and birds as well as rare animals.
You could also see stuffed rare beasts. These animals were legitimately collected not from poaching so you shouldn't worry.
Next one is what makes me stunned. It has enormous size of dinosaur fossils that reminds me of the movie [Night at the Museum]. The photo above is the fossil of woolly rhinoceros that used to live in glacial period recreated in three dimensions. Scary. I've never seen anything like this before in my whole life. It was really strange and exciting!
Do you know what kind of dinosaur is this? I couldn't find any sign but it looks like a bird flying the sky or dinosaur crawling about the ground. Well, all of this made me feel like I was a kid again so personally I was very excited.
Wow…this scary thing is Yangchuanosaurus. It has three big toenails on each foot suitable for hunting herbivorous dinosaurs. Can you imagine bumping into this on the street? How scary it must be!
From afar, it looks like it's running at me, doesn't it? They had copy of fossil of dinosaur, and the original fossils were displayed as well. This was very unique experience for me.
When I heard I had to pay 5,000 won for the museum, I thought for a second it's damn expensive. As soon as I got inside, I realised they put a lot of money in it… The campus looks amazing so I guess it's worth to visit for you as well. Personally, I suggest you to visit here.
