Around Gyeongbokgung Palace at the foot of Inwangsan Mountain, old hanok houses are gathered. If you go a little further, you can see the contrast between the hanoks and the buildings in Jongno and the City Hall.

Seochon is located in the middle of downtown Seoul, but the time has stopped at here. Today, I will introduce 'Song's Kitchen', a restaurant that remodeled hanok on Seochon Street.

After the entrance where the flowers welcome you,

You will see a vintage interior that is almost looks like an antique museum.

What is the difference between vintage and old? I can feel the traces of care on props as much as possible to blend in without breaking the existing ones.

In the backyard, there is a nice table that can be used as a movie prop. It felt just right to have a good time with good people.

The ceiling of hanok, which looks like inside of a whale's belly, is the attraction of hanok restaurants. Newspapers and electric wires on the ceiling are showing the the trace of its long history.

I didn't have the courage to open this old restroom's door. Where the traces of time are evident, the most fearful place is the restroom, isn't it? It's for men and women. I believe the inside is clean.

If you sit down, you'll get a thick menu.

I guess many people come here to enjoy the atmosphere with drinks in the evening. They have a set of menus that go well with beer.

The signature menu are seafood tteokbokki and

rucola pizza.

It's mostly Italian dishes, but there are also dishes of various nationalities and styles.

I was curious about 'Songju' cocktail, but I will try it next time.

Here's the rucola pizza I ordered. It's a fairly large size pizza, about the size of an adult's palm. Of course it's a thin pizza.

Here are pickles that are known to be as good as the main menu. They made it my themselves and it is very crunchy.

Doesn't the fresh rucola pizza look delicious?

The combination of salty pizza and bitter rucola is excellent. The dough edges are crispy and chewy inside. Moderate tomato sauce and rich cheese add flavor. And the rucola that spreads out every time I chew it makes me want to keep eating.

From dates to meetings, Song's kitchen is a good restaurant.
