Buncheon Station and Santa Village by Taebaek Snow Train, V-train
The departure and arrival station of V-train(Baekdudaegan Valley Train), Buncheon Station, resembles Zermatt Station of Switzerland. This station has a sisterhood relationship with Zermatt Station because it was built to look like Zermatt Station with a clock and woods brought from Switzerland to commemorate 50th year of diplomatic relations with Switzerland. After taking the V-train for an hour from Cheoram Station, you have one hour left until you take the train going back to Cheoram Station comes, which would allow you to take a look around the station building (驛舍) and Santa Village.

As we got off the train, white snow welcomed us.
This is not artificial snow, it's real. The ice on tree planting look like snow flowers.
A heater burning trees made the station so warm inside. Since there are few houses using woods as fuel, they wouldn't have to worry about the trees because there must be plenty of dead trees on the mountain.
Let's take a look around the station building, shall we? What's that in front of building?
There's a waiting room next to it. It must be place to wait for companies and next train. I'll get inside.
The cat guarding the entrance was slowly walking towards me like it's telling me “hey, you. Let me see you! What are you looking at? Yes, you!"
And it's lying in front of me like “hey, you scratch my back~yes, yes, yes, right there!!!" It's a pet so it knows how to be loved. ^^*
The station was decorated with pretty accessories with red balloons like it's Christmas and equipped with a fireplace for people to rest warm.
On one side of the walls, there's a board and post-its for memo or messages,
and this wall has books so that people could read books and rest in the warm station until the train comes. When the train arrives, they let the people know so you won't miss train even if you're reading.
I saw there was something prepared for kids outside, snow sled for free. Kids loved it so I tried it and I loved it as well. ^^*
The small village under the station now had restaurants and cafeterias for tourists who stay in the village briefly. It would've been so quiet and empty if there were not here so I searched for a restaurant because I was getting hungry.
'Sanyacho,' I like the name. They had expensive snacks that cost 7,000 won and cheaper ones, 2,000 won, like susu bukkumi(millet pancake). Most restaurants have similar menus at similar prices.
I just wanted to alleviate my hunger so simply(?) ordered one Gondeurae bap(rice with thistle; 7,000 won) and one susu bukkumi(2,000 won). Warm Gondeurae bap and Deonjang(bean paste) soup served with delicious common dishes warmed my body. Sweet, flavory, crispy and chewy susu bukkumi tasted so nice. What was there to do except to eat?
While I was about to take a rest on a bench, I saw someone put a stone. It says, “moving stone! Wait for 2 hours! lol" Whoever wrote this, he/she's funny. It would definitely been moved in two hours. The restaurant owner must've done it and I could see his/her sense of humour.
On the walls in the village, someone wrote 'dream'. Do you think our life is the same as this town? When the train comes, quiet town gets cheerful and when the train leaves, the dreams-like moments are gone and quietness comes in town again. Buncheon Station bloomed when the train comes and withered up when it leaves again today. If you're traveling Taebaek in Gangwondo or Bonghwa in Gyeongsangbuk-do, this is a must-go place.
