Boryeong-si is located in the west sea, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea. It is adjacent to Cheongyang-gun and Buyeo-gun to the east, the west sea to the west, to Seocheon-gun to the south and Hongseong-gun to the north. Janghang Line is connected with Seohaean Expressway. There are Daecheon port, Daecheon beach and Muchangpo Beach. Boryeong-si holds Boryeong Mud Festival every year. Its downtown is around Daecheon. Daecheon beach
It is always crowded with tourists who hope to enjoy summer vacation and romance all the year round. The accommodations are well equipped. It has fine sand beach and wonderful sunset. Various restaurants stand near the beach and Daecheon fishing port.
The beach has 3.5 km length and 100m width. Oddly formed rocks and strangely shaped stones in the south is so beautiful. It is the best place to enjoy pleasant sea bathing with modest water temperature. The sand is made of shell powders, which is unique in the East. You can avoid strong sun light under the shade of forest, and enjoy the sea. It is also the best place for camp ground.

Boryeong Mud Festival
Boryeong mud festival was originated from local festival for increasing awareness of mud products like mudpack, and invigorating local resources. It has become the World coastal festival after it was selected the best festival by Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2007. It has various events like mud bathing, mud massage, mud flat boot camp and mud wrestling competition.

Muchangpo Beach
It has 1.5 km length and 1~2m water level, so it is smaller than Daecheon beach. But you can enjoy sea bathing, sea fishing and wood bathing thanks to rocks of fantastic shape and dense pine forest. It is also famous for “Muchangpo Beach, Moses' Miracle” in every full-moon night and the end of the month.
The glow of the setting sun(one of eight beautiful landscapes in Boryeong) is out of this world.

Seongjusan Mountain Seongjusa Temple Site
Seongjusan mountain is the origin of Charyeong mountain range. It stands for Boryeong. The mountain has been called Seongjusan as many hermits have lived from long ago. In the temple with 64,800㎡ area, there are a lot of cultural properties like a tower and a monument, No. 8 national treasure and No. 19 treasure. You can assume the scale of old temple.

Boryeongho Lake
It was established in October, 1998. A dam was created in ungcheon river, and it captured the water. So Punggye-ri, Yongsu-ri and Pyeongna-ri were submerged. The water fills the middle of Amisan mountain and Anggakssan mountain.

Coal Museum
The museum was built to honor the history of coal industry in Boryeong. About 3,300 relics are being displayed in 500 pyeongs of exhibition hall. You would feel like as if you were in the mine thanks to the cold wind tunnel using abandoned mine.

Oeyeondo Island
The island has been called “Oeyeondo” because it is often surrounded by sea mist. Like its name, it is usually hided by dense fog. But all of a sudden, it appears with small islands nearby. The island has beautiful natural scenery like odd shaped rocks like Mae rock, folding screen rock, woman rock, Goraejoji and Sangtu rock, and Mongolian beach. It has been developed as an ocean reports resort after it was selected to “The island that I want to go” by Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism.

Sapsido Island
The island is far 6kilometers from the southern Taean County, and 13.2kilometers from Daejeonhang port. People have lived in the island since the Mahan dynasty period. It has been called “Sapsido” since it looks like a curved bow.
